Notes / Commercial Description:
Since Born Yesterday is bottled and shipped the very same day—probably the freshest Fresh Hop ale you'll get your paws on—the arrival date is kinda in the air 'til things get closer and nature says so. Kinda like a fresh lil' newborn, only this puppy is made from whole-cone, un-kilned Mosaic, Equinox, Citra, Simcoe and Amarillo hops from our farmer friends in Yakima, WA. It's borning soon. Wanna be the first to know when? You've gotta guess first …

Bottled 10/27/14. This beer is pretty much as fresh as can be.

Pours a hazy orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, citrus zest, and tropical fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, tropical fruit, and pineapple juice flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with fantastic citrus and tropical fruit forward hop characteristics that make this one quite tasty and super easy to drink.

Serving type: bottle.

From a bottle and on tap.

Smells like pineapple juice. Ok, getting excited.

Tastes like bittersweet pineapple juice. Yep that's delicious. Make no mistake, this one is for hop heads. Not much malt characteristic but wasn't expecting it. It's not very bitter, though. The hops are so juicy it's just delicious. It's got some pine and metallic characteristics blend in with the fruitiness. I love it.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a DFH IPA glass on 28 October 2014. "Borning October 27, 2014".

4A: Shining gold and beautiful, with clinging lace.

4.25S: Light, but fruity and delicious. Mmmm, mosaic. Hint of dry-sharp hop bitterness is unexpected in a wet hop ale, but welcome.

4T: Crisp and tasty. Softer, sweeter, and nicer than I recall Lagunitas Pale. Not as transformative as hoped. Less Mosaic in the flavor than anticipated, but I get the Amarillo, and maybe Cascade...?

4.25M: Juicy and dry in turns.

4O: Solid, but not a must-drink. Will happily finish my six-pack.
