Since Born Yesterday is bottled and shipped the very same day—probably the freshest Fresh Hop ale you'll get your paws on—the arrival date is kinda in the air 'til things get closer and nature says so. Kinda like a fresh lil' newborn, only this puppy is made from whole-cone, un-kilned Mosaic, Equinox, Citra, Simcoe and Amarillo hops from our farmer friends in Yakima, WA. It's borning soon. Wanna be the first to know when? You've gotta guess first …

Rises above the fall of fresh hops IMO and that's saying something

Bottled 10/16/17

Had this last year but for some reason didint review.

Pours yellow gold with very fine sediment in suspension.

Smell is hefty weed and citrus together with a touch of cracker.

Taste carries it thru with seem less blend of dank and citrus fruit. Sugary breakfast cereal tastes but this one is leafy green for the most part. Minimal bitterness.

Medium to light bodied. Medium carb. Clean.

Awesome fresh hop IPA! Has all the great characteristics but each is amled up a bit. Hopefully will find more of this year's version.

Poured from an undated 12 oz. bottle: cloudy gold to orange hue with a foamy white-head.

"Fresh hop" is an understatement after smelling this one right after the bottle is opened; an explosion of citrusy, bittersweet tropical fruit assaults the olfactory like nothing I have experienced in the beer world in quite some time. Will carry over to the flavor?

Yes, it does, though there is a nice malt backbone to keep it from becoming too astringent on the palate. After a strong taste of grapefruit, the ale settles down to mild oranges and marmalade. There some faint hints of honey as well. The flavor is more well-rounded after the ale warms in the glass.

This medium bodied ale has a very nice lasting mouthfeel of bittersweet tropical fruit and malt.

After the initial, somewhat rough beginning, this one does settle down to a balanced, hop-driven ale - this is after all, a showcase for the hops.

First had Born Yesterday poured from 12-oz. bottle into nonic pint. Very aromatic and crisp American Pale Ale, with well-hidden big ABV. Wish filtered, though.

Purchased 6pk at grocery store in San Rafael, CA for $12. No indication of Best By or the bottling date (wow, Lagunitas, seriously!).
Pours slightly cloudy gold. Head is ephemeral.
Aroma is intensely citrus...orange, lemon, grapefruit. Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic...all good. And "Indigenous Catawampus".....whatever that is.
Taste best described as an intensely citrusy hop bomb. Some distinct dryness on the aftertaste. And a little sticky.
A novel offering to celebrate hop harvest season.

Best fresh hop ale I've tried. Beautiful golden color with a moderate, loosely knit head. Intense fruity and herbal aromas from the broad array of hops. Super dry and clean with a persistent finish. Really excellent. [16 oz. draft]
