J code 190 7 (7/9/17) poured on 9/17/17
L: clear amber, big sticky head.
S: initially smelled some dank after an ice cold pour, with fruity hops; ripe, rich, deep and mellow fruit to be exact, tangerine apricot mango, citrus, a little tropical, slight booze. Found some malt towards the end. Not as loud, sharp and exciting as Little Sumpin Extra or Waldo but definitely a good aroma.
T: good flavor, good balance of Lagunitas' signature blend of mellow fruity herbal hops and piney bitterness. Good flavor straight from the fridge and also good flavor after it warms.
F: just right for a DIPA. Medium bodied, medium thickness, got a little chewiness that I like. A little creaminess.
O: very good. Not as good as some of their seasonal releases (Waldo and Little Sumpin Extra), but a solid DIPA. Not too bitter, flavorful, good aroma, good abv, very drinkable, very affordable, cool name... Lagunitas has made many a night better for me. #feelingthankfulforlagunitasbrews

It's like a lighter version of "hop stoopid" but not exactly. You know it's a Lagunitas product. I drank it straight from the brown glass bomber while sons where at football practice so I cannot attest to it's look. It has an evenly balanced citrus/pine smell, it is slightly sweet up front with a lot of citrus flavor that changes to a more bitter pine finish. It's a little sweet but finishes dry. It's almost perfect. I will drink again.

Big, bold, and chewy ... but then it is a double IPA so kinda what I expect.
Pours a clear amber gold with a creamy white head that hangs around a while.
Lots and lots of hoppiness with a slightly dry, citrusy orange bite at the finish.
First drink, the alcohol was very present but that seems to mellow as the beer sits a bit after opening.
Not a bad quaff ... not bad at all.

Poured into a nonic glass. Good head. Good carbonation. Wonderful hop aroma. Excellent hop flavor. Taste oranges. A little dryness on back end. Not bitter at all. Easy drinking for an 8% beer. Enjoyed this one as I have been on an IPA bandwagon in recent weeks and American Double/Imperial IPA's continue to impress. No bottle date. Cheers Y'all!
