This beer is usually at the local sixer. And if im not in the mood to try anything new this is my go to. Good ABV, good taste. Good all around beer. Not to hoppy but not easy drinking.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass

L: Semi-opaque medium golden pour. Massive foamy white head and great lacing.

S: Rich and malty... piney hops and fruit.

T/F: Follows the nose... rich and malty... sweet caramel masks the bitterness. Pine and light citrus. A bit floral.... medium in body and rather sticky on the tongue. Finish is bittersweet.

O: A sentimental favorite... one of the first big IPA's I enjoyed back in the day and it's still held up mostly well. A bit too sweet/malty, but well made and tasty. One I enjoy revisiting every so.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a dark amber/copper colored body with a nice two finger white foamy head that quickly dies and leaves some speckled spider web lacing that fully clings. The smell has a rich considerable amounts of malty goodness with a wonderful allocation of citrus and piney hops embedded within. The taste was bittersweet all the way through, no if’s, and’s, or but’s about it, this beauty shows a nice complexity of the piney/citrusy goodness wonderfully combined with the malts. I’m not getting any aftertaste whatsoever, but there is a dry finish. On the palate, it sat about a medium to almost heavy (perhaps) more likely closer to medium, semi-sessionable, carbonation is good for the style and very good to me as there’s a nice sharpness, but still shows a decent smoothness. Overall, gee, what a great DIPA.

(Written JUL 26, 2015) Pours a nice light copper color, aroma very pronounced, citrus, nice lacing very light colored head, medium (?) body, very smooth. Hard to believe it has the IBU and ABV rating it does. Definitely an above average IPA.
