Appearance – Of course, the head was just monstrous. The heavenly, delicate pillows settled into an inch high topping to the liquid after lacing the heck out of my Ruination glass. The body was a bright and hazy orange.

Smell – Lagunitas packed this one with some sirious hops. The piney and floral notes have a nice malt base to back them up.

Taste – This reminds me of Rogue Honey Cream Ale without the honey. The hops are complex, solid, sharp, and of course “creamy.” The malt base cannot be ignored, offering a nice compliment to this rather complex ale.

Mouthfeel – Medium-bodied and exceptionally smooth and, yes again, creamy.

Drinkability – This was more like a creamy pale ale. Very good.

Lagunitas Sirius was served from a 22 oz. bomber. On the label, this brew is called a special high-gravity cream ale, with an IBU of 40.63. In a Duvel tulip, the beer was a brilliant and metallic golden copper hue, and was topped by a creamy and sticky white head that left excellent lacing. Beautiful! The nose was mouthwatering, with a creamy sweet maltiness and an assertive and full floral and orangey citric hop bouquet with a crisp touch. The taste reflected the nose closely. The body was full, rich, and lightly sweet, accented heavily with orange citric crispness. A zingy citric transition led to a wonderfully bitter and aromatic finish with the perfect touch of sweetness. Big and full flavored with imperial qualities, yet perfectly balanced and emminently drinkable...a kick-ass cream ale. An excellent way to greet the Spring. Bravo Lagunitas.

This beer poured to a crisp and almost fruity looking color with a pretty big head. It shrank but never went away. It looks great in a glass. The smell and taste is creamy but with a touch of bitterness. It's a nice effect.

I look forward to downing many of these come the thick of the spring season. This is good stuff.

I haven't had much luck with Lagunitas seasonals. This one poured a deep golden color, head was pure white and huge. Lacing was good. Aroma was very grainy with a hint of spice and alcohol, does this beer have Belgian leanings? Well I guess it does cause it really didn't do much for me. Taste was very alcoholic with some spiciness tossed in. Bottle says 60ibu's of bitterness but It was news to me. Full bodied thick mouthfeel. Drinkability, well if this type of beer is your bag, you might like it. Has it's good points, mouthfeel and appearance can't be slammed. I won't try it again.

Spotted this new seasonal at my local organic food store.
Comes in the regular Lagunitas 22 oz bomber with the ubiquitous label. this is according to the label a "Special High Gravity Cream Ale".
Poured into the pint glass..it is a handsome looking ale..dark golden almost amberish in colour..small pure white head..that shrinks but leaves nice lacing.
The aroma is rather fresh and bracing..spicy and fragrant..some coriander maybe.
Definatlly a bit of coriander in the taste..this is like a strong belgian pale ale....malts well represented..but creamy smooth on the back of the tongue.
Nice feel in the mouth..its well carbonated but doesnt sem to take away from the creaminess...strange but good.
Very nice spring ale..it seems to go well with the season for me.
