Pours a light amber with copious off white foam and effervescence. Smells of light malts, bready, lemon and orange zest, some barnyard smells of hay and grassy notes. Tastes sweet light malts forward, citrus and lemon zest, very bready and malty throughout with a hint of piney hops at the finish and very clean overall. There is the characteristic lagunitas twang throughout - very pleasant - not sure if its a byproduct of the water or strain of yeast - you can always recognize a Lagunitas brew by the flavor. Mouthfeel is light and effervescent -
For a PILS, this is one of the best IPAs I've had in a while - perhaps its my unrefined palate - but I would prefer this to the run of the mill pilsner - another great beer by Lagunitas.

Appeareance- Poured into a tall, Firestone-Walker Pilsner glass that resulted in a slightly off-white 3-finger head. The brew itself is slightly hazy and golden straw in color. Great retention, but we're talking a thin, tall glass here, eventually breaking down to a thin, solid layer of suds. A chunky and fine sediment of lace finds it's way along the glass as the experience goes on, never giving up until the final taste.

Smell - Aroma hints at subtle white grape character with a touch of bread. More fruity notes underneath, hinting at red apple, and then a punch of citrus that carries through in the finish.

Taste - Somewhat follows the nose. All character is fairly subtle, but evenly rounded. Bready, fruity, and even a touch of stale trading card bubblegum. The aforementioned white grape is there, again subtly, along with a tame breadiness, and then there's a drying alcohol bite that comes through in the finish. Overall not a very exciting flavor, but well-balanced all the same.

Mouthfeel - Full bodied with a lightly syrupy feel. Fair carbonation lends a decent crispness before the dry, boozy finish.

Overall - Hard to judge this one. I can appreciate the flavor, but as a Pilsner I think it completely overwhelms; as an imperial pils I still think it's a bit thick. Almost drinks like a DIPA without the super heavy hops. For the style, as new as it is, it's simply too heavy.

Smells like malt liquor. Tastes like malt liquor. Previous reviewer said it best: I can buy a Steel Reserve or Olde English for 1/4 the price. Way to heavy for a pils...even too heavy for an Imperial PIls. The body doesn't match the taste. It's the "Lagunitas hop profile" misused on a pilsner. I feel like Lagunitas shot a dud with this Seasonal. They get a pass of course as their bombers are always nicely priced. I'm not pissed I dropped $6 but this is sub-par.

This was pretty good last night washed away the previous horrible HF Dorothy. Big heavy lager real nice mouthfeel. Smells and taste like an strong lager, notes of apples and pears, floral hops. Good value $5 bomber, Lagunitas well known for value. And their High West still (by far) this years best and in my top 5 all time.

My only issue is that while good, really not that much better than a macro malt liquor, example Steel Reserve 211 8% ABV that I occasionally enjoy for $1.35 16 oz can. So that price vs $5.00 22 oz you tell me ...

Every single style has the same hop characteristics,I'm really tired of the lack of hop variety lagunitas chooses in their ipas.which being even though this style is an imperial Pilsner,it taste just like every other lagunitas hop forward beer.

Clear, golden yellow color with a small, short-lived head. It smelled of floral, fresh picked hops. It really had a grassy/floral hop bite with a sweet booziness in the background.

Doesn't taste anything like a pils this is a west coast IPA.
That being said it is a very good IPA.
The smell is citrus, lemon, grapefruit and earth.
The taste is pretty sweet with citrus hops, not much bitterness.
Overall a very decent IPA, there is a little pils hop flavour but this is an IPA.

A: Beautiful golden straw color wit a b two finger head that mushrooms over the rim of the glass but doesn't spill over.
S: Bready and tropical
T: Standard laguanitas citrus flavor with a sweet bread backbone
MF: Crisp clean and refreshing. Alcohol is nonexistent you would never guess this beer is 8.6%
O: A jacked up hopped up pilsner
I like it alot.

Very well balanced. Amazing post-lawn mower brew. Just the right mix of hops and pilsner for a warm summer day. For some reason this stupid website is making me type more to submit my rating. I thought they discontinued this policy but evidently they have re instituted it. Nice work code writers at BA!

poured 22oz bottle into Pils glass.

A - Clear light amber orange with 2 finger white cap. Thick collar remains through out the session and rings of lacing line the glass.

S - Big sweet notes of malt, cracker, bread, honey dominate. Mixed in are some light citrus and pine hops. Grain and straw are also present.

T - Starts off with a sweet malt character, with some cracker, bread, and honey. Grains, yeast and straw transition into a light hoppiness with citrus and pine. Finishes as a dry, lightly hopped lager.

M - Crisp, slick, oily with a lighter body and great carbonation. A bit dry and bitter on the finish.

O - This Imperial Pils should is really an IPL. Plenty of hop flavors that I enjoyed in it.
