appearance; light blonde, thin layer of head that quickly dies. thin carbonation.

smell; slightly bread like, bit of hops.

taste; nice flavor. crisp, good balance of hops and maltiness, bit of dryness too the finish and some fruit in there.

mouthfeel. mouthfeel is somewhat lacking. a little creamy but yearned for bubbles to compliment.

overall. good. doesn't wow but its always nice to find a quality lager/ pilsner even if it isn't the most memorable of beers.

Poured a dark pale gold with two finger head that died quick and left some lace patches. Beer has a slightly sweet aroma but mostly some pils/cracker like malts and faint citric hops. Smooth, light bodied, mild sweetness and a good pils malt base that has a crisp, dry edge to it. This crispness is noticeable in the mild bite of the aftertaste. Good balance. Overall, just a simple yet enjoyable pils.

-A: Pale orange, golden. Active pour results in a delicate white head, about 1-1/2 fingers, but the head retention is surprisingly lengthy. Small tight lacing remains when the head recedes. I'm using the Trappist Rochefort glass, and it makes this beer look absolutely fantastic!

-N: cereal, orange, floral, piney, slight white pepper. Not a strong aroma, but it's very inviting.

-T: Front end is sweet orange followed by pine. Resting on the palate and inhaling opens up more pine and floral, the sweetness fades, and then the bite from carbonation kicks in. The finish is clean, citrus remains but becomes more lemony, bitterness is slightly sour (a good thing), and the cereal is prominent in the aftertaste. The finish is refreshing and beckons the next sip.

-M: Light body, yet silky. Medium carbonation, but manages to bite after a second. Highly drinkable.

-Overall: This is a fine pilsner. It's true to the style, but it's uniquely balanced unlike many that are too malty and fizzy. Lagunitas makes exceptional products, and I am becoming a returning customer.
