A - 4 - Nice dark brown black beer with some brown see through edges. Tan head that stick around with great lacing.
S - 3.75 - Roasty coffee, chocolate, little bit of vanilla.
T - 4 - Smooth coffee and chocolate, some creamy, vanilla type flavor to balance it out. Very nice.
M - 4 - Medium-heavy mouthfeel. Alc completely covered. Aftertaste is like a cafe mocha.
O - 4 - This is a great coffee stout, my favorite.

Comparables: Santa Fe Imperial Java Stout, Southern Tier Choklat, Peche Mortel, Rogue Double Chocolate Stout

Comparison Review Lagunitas' Cappucino Stout VS Santa Fe Imperial Java Stout :))

A - Santa Fe is winning in this department with better head, that leaves heavier lacing.
S - Roasty coffee, lots of chocolate and creamy vanilla in the Cappucino Stout, Heavy coffee, espresso and roasted notes in the Santa Fe Java
T - Very smooth coffee and chocolate with the Lagunitas Cappucino, Way heavier on the coffee and roasted bitterness, but still smooth with the Santa Fe Java.
M - Both are medium - heavy and very smooth beers for the ABV. Aftertaste on the Cappucino is more chocolate/creamy, while on the Java it's more roasted coffee.
O - Honestly, it's a tie. One's more creamy/chocolatey but the other i more coffee like, but at the same time, I like them both and they're both amazingly affordable.

Mix of Lagunitas Cappucino Stout and Santa Fe Imperial Java Stout:
A - 4.25 - great tan head that leaves amazing lacing. Dark brown/black beer.
S - 3.75 - Coffee, espresso, roasted malts. Seems like the Java Stout is dominating here.
T - 4.25 - Coffee, espresso, creamy vanilla, whole milk, irish cream. The taste is more complex. which isn't alway the result of blending beers. Good stuff.
M - 4 - medium heavy as usual. Alc covered. Aftertaste is coffee and whole milk.
O - 4.25 - Great blend. I'll remember this one in the future. Very affordable beers too

22 oz. bottle poured into a Snifter.

I enjoyed while listening to AC/DC's Back in Black album. Very dark. Like a super dark brown. Nice head and retention and decent lacing.

Roasty coffee stout. Emphasis on the coffee. But hey...This is a cappuccino stout. Bitter chocolately on the backend. Front end is very coffee-like.

Outstanding mouth feel being a full-bodied brigade of stout godliness in a glass.

Lagunitas did a great job with this one. If coffee stouts are to your liking, this one will not disappoint. And turn up "You Shook Me All Night Long" to 11 while enjoying.

Poured from a 650 ml bottle into a snifter.

A: Black. Light rising effervescence. Pours a finger and a half, foamy, brown-white head. Settles slowly, leaving a thick, inconsistent foam blanket and a thick beer ring. Decent spider web lacing.

S: Roasted malt, roasted coffee, and a little molasses and raisin.

T: Roasted pecans and roasted espresso beans.

M: Light-ish body, but hearty and full-flavored. Roasty with a bit of a sweet balance and a bitter finish.

D: Sip and enjoy.

Atmosphere is pretty good. Dark, nice effervescence, nice tight head, and some fair lacing. Nose is roasted malt and coffee, with some sweet balance. Roasted nuts and coffee. Overall, this is a good quaff.

22 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. The julian date code says this was bottled on January 18th.

A: Very dark brown body like used motor oil. Cappuccino colored 2 finger head, with lots of lacing and good retention.

S: Strong coffee scents not much else, could defiantly be more complex.

T: Follows the nose for the most part, some hoppy bitterness as well as some dark fruit.

M: Fairly creamy, I feel it should have some more viscosity, especially due to the higher alcohol content. CArbonation was decent.

O: Damn good imperial stout for the price, I might pick up another bottle and try aging it to see if it improves once the hops fall off.

A - Black with a creamy head.

S - Coffee and sweet stouty malt. Go figure.

T - Sweet coffee with dark caramel stout goodness. Bit bitter on the finish. It's strange at first but by the end you can see why you've bought this before.

M - Smooth and a little viscous.

O - I haven't had another stout specifically labeled as a Coffee Stout so I can't compare, but this is good. Definitely different from Lagunitas's Imperial Stout. It's not an all the time thing for me, but I don't regret it every so often when I find it.
