Poured into a snifter out of a 22oz bomber.

Pours pitch black with a half finger medium tan head. Surprisingly decent head retention and lacing for a beer of this strength.

Aroma comes off as sweet with almost a bit of a soy sauce character. I can definitely notice the coffee but it is tucked away in the background. Caramel and brown sugar are there as well with some milk chocolate.

Coffee is more prominent in the flavor but that same funky soy/worcestershire sauce note is there. Dark caramel and a touch of dark, dried fruit along with a lighter bitterness. Sweetness is moderate to high leading to a sticky finish but the alcohol is very well hidden.

Overall, this is not one of the better coffee stouts out there but for the price and abv, it is hard to go wrong with is one.

A: Black, not unexpected from a double stout. Non-existent head- but it could be because of the non-aggressive pour.

S: Yep. Big cappuccino up front. Burnt toast and malt next.

T: Big espresso, coffee bean, roasted nuts, burnt toast, vanilla bean, charred peanut brittle, syrupy malt, and bitter chocolate.

M: Medium with a descent amount of carbonation. Not the best feel for this style, as I prefer the heavier mouth feel; but not a bad one.

O: Lagunitas never disappoints me. This is an overall nice double and on the cheaper side at that, which is an even bigger plus!
