A Unique Dry-Hopped Sweet Tart Sour Mash Ale. We soured the wort on the Hot Side with Lactobacillus for a few days and then brewed up this smooth and hoppy sour. It tastes like a big bowl of fruity candy or some chewable flavored vitamins, but what's the difference? It's sweet, tart, and sassy, just like the tasty cherry pie that your favorite aunt makes. This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a hazy burnt yellow color with a sly transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. Thin white foamy head dissipated at a nice pace. Semi-rimmed lacing slides into the beer. The smell starts off with some ripe sweet grape skin, tart apple, sour green apple. Then luscious sweet grass, sly sweet lemon. The flavor takes in all of the previously mentioned flavors to combine and bring about the sourness a bit forward than the sweetness. Subtle sweetness in the aftertaste. And breaks down appropriately in the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a mostly smooth/rounded sweet to sour harshness hitting my tongue. Unlike a fair amount of other American sour/wild ales, this one definitely hits a lot more smoother. Overall, since the harsh "sour"ness is quite smoothed out and not as strong in this one, I’d say this would be a great starter AWA for noobies, still I’d have this again.

love this one, awesomely clean on the lacto souring, not too acidic to pound on, well hopped and very modern with the dry hop, effervescent and easy drinking, always fresh tasting, and a cool base beer for fruits and herbs and stuff, although i think they left that area a little bit unexplored despite there being some fun variants of this. this was another one from these guys that was a little ahead of its time, but what a cool release for a national brewery. looks basic, golden, clearish, fizzy. the nose is fruity from the dry hop, a lemon thing from the bacteria and notes of tangerine, lemongrass, watermelon sour warhead candy, a little soft earthy wheat but dry and not malty, minerals, wholly mouthwatering. the hops have a little bitterness which i like, all at the end, herbal as much as fruity now, lemon zest and pith for sure, maybe green apple and gooseberry, tart plum even, its sort of exotic and unfamiliar, but like, also kind of citra forward and known, weird what the acidity does to these hops, its real cool, a lemon lime soda layer, the cereals of the grain base, light spiciness, candy sourness, very juicy and vibrant and unique, the minimal ingredients still yield complexity in flavor and texture. its spritzy like soda, lighter medium bodied, i can feel some wheat, and its best when its frosty cold to me. id love this with like lime and gin botanicals, seems natural, but also like mango and papaya and coconut, maybe salt and pepper even, how cool would that be? it seems ready to be played with, but its delicious like this too. impressive quick sour, the quality smokes so many others out there...

Tart, smooth and modestly sour. This is my favorite beer by a large margin. I bought a full size keg when they discontinued Sally and only regret not buying two...

A nice mild sour for those not inclined to the funkier variety of sour beers. Pale in color with a flat head. Peachy nose with a hint of honeysuckle. Other stone fruits with a flowery palate. Nice follow through in the aftertaste.

Slightly hazy light gold with short head. Soft aromas of tropical fruit, lemon candy, a little bread. Flavor is moderately tart, with subtle peach, pear, lemon, tropical, green apple, and light bready or crackery malt. There's a soft, almost warm sweetness that's really nice. Sharp carbonation, medium mouthfeel. It somehow doesn't strike me as the most refreshing sour, but it's very nicely balanced and really good.
