A slightly hazy, lemon/golden to light amber, with plenty of carb rising, and a finger of lasting, foamy, white head that sticks.
The aroma is very fruity with lots of pineapple and peach, white bread crust, and a nice dank note. In the flavor, all of the above in spades, and a nice full, but, not harsh bitterness that lasts. The feel is medium body, with average carbonation, and medium dry. Very nice APA!

A fantastic juice bomb. Was able to drink a few of these very soon after the bottling date. There was just a tad of an underlying sharpness that made it slightly less enjoyable than the original "Born Yesterday"

S- Spicy citric hop with malt backing. Wonderful orange and grapefruit smell.
T- Citrus and piney hop taste is wonderful with good malt.
F- Resin sticks with you.
O- Very good, but not as much citrus juciness as original. Lagunitas does it again!

Poured from 12-ounce bottle into a novelty snifter. Hazy, light golden color, with a thick snow-white head that left scads of sticky lacing. Big grapefruit aroma smacks you in the face as soon as you pop the cap. Delightful flavors of grapefruit and pine dominate the palate, alongside lots of sticky citrus-zest bitterness that lingers on the tongue. If I am reading the date code correctly, this was bottled about a month before it was sampled. Still insanely hoppy and delicious and one of the best APA's out there.

Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottleneck says 081 7.
A- Pours a hazy dark golden color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a large side patch of bubbly surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves large clots behind.
S- Zesty, somewhat spicy hop aroma with a nice cereal grain malt backing.
T- Lots of bright citrus character from the hops balanced wonderfully by the sweet malt presence. Medium-high bitterness only adds to the drinkability without hindering it a bit.
M- Very sharp and tangy with medium carbonation and a lightish body.
O- Just as good if not, dare I say, better than the original incarnation. I'm really digging the slight malt aspect of this beer as it's providing a great complementary sweetness to the vibrancy of the hop quality.

Thank you Lagunitas!!!!! You are the only ones who have never let me down!!! (Well, being honest, Aunt Sally sucks!) But anyway, every beer you guys make is not only to write home about, but to write to Pluto about... quality and care are the look, smell, taste, and mouthfeel... and this one is no exception. I am more of a "Lucky 13" guy, but I was surprised as to how much this hoppier brew pleased me. Phenomenal as always (minus Aunt Sally)... keep up the extraordinary work!

12 oz bottle, about 2 weeks old
Born Yesterday is my favorite widely distributed hoppy beers. This one missed the mark though. As fresh as it was, it tasted stale and the malt was already taking over. Weird, because most of the other reviews seem positive.

Pours a goldenish lite amber. Decent head and decent lacing. Smells like a delicious fresh juicy tropical IPA. It tastes sweet and juicy like a great NE IPA with a slightly bitter finish like a westernI PA. It is as good as any pale ale I have had. Tough to beat. I wish it was easy to obtain. At least where I live. A great beer.

Juicy saturated orange, two fingers of fluffy soufflé foam, concentric rings of drippy lacing.
Brief initial aroma of pulpy sweet tangerine and mango, lightly green resiny herbals in the background.
Tangerine and grapefruit flavors, resiny bitter grapefruit peel aftertaste. Supple and smooth, light side of medium bodied. Dry and clean with lingering resiny citrus oils. Carbonation is low to medium, pretty unobtrusive.
Very drinkable, the 12 pack packaging is exactly what I wanted with regular Born Yesterday. This is a shade under it, but it's still a very solid effort considering how hard it is to reproduce the vitality of fresh hops.
Edit: Getting to the last of the 12 pack, freshness seems to fall off fast.

12 ounce bottle poured into a tulip
A: Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a bright white head, lots of lacing, good amount of carbonation streaming up the glass's side.
A: Citrus peel, guava, peach skins, mango, hint of pine, lots of tropical notes, not getting any malt notes, all hops.
T: Follows the nose with tropical notes like guava, mango, peach skins, dry grapefruit peel, moderate amount of bitterness, finish is dry with citrus and pine lingering in the aftertaste, very nice.
M: Medium bodied with a dry finish, low carbonation gives it a smooth mouthfeel.
O: This does not drink like an American pale ale, more like an American IPA, lots of hops with tropical, citrus, and pine notes, smooth mouthfeel, I generally like my ales with hop and malt balance but this is all hops, great beer.

12 oz bottled 3/22/17 at 7% ABV poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. The beer is hazy orange-yellow with short lived white head. The head settles into a thin cap and leaves some lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, peel and earth. Taste is more citrus & some pine with a pungent earthy finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, sharply carbonated with a dry finish. Overall, very good. I would say this is about 85% of what Born Yesterday was in the fall, which is considerably better than most of what I can get here. Cheers

Pours cloudy orange-golden with a quickly dissipating white foam that's a bit sticky. Aroma is strong resin and pine pitch. Flavor is delicious with the same notes from the nose joining a slightly sweet malt backbone breadiness and smooth as can be. Great mouth-feel, clean pleasant finish. Another solid tasty offering from these guys, they certainly understand pale ales.

12oz bottle dated 3/22/17.
Pours cloudy gold with a moderate head and retention. Aromatics are dank and juicy with plenty of grapefruit and citrus pith. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Grapefruit-forward on the palate with tropical undertones and a grassy, dank freshness. Low bitterness with zero malt and lingering hops. Finishes with plenty of wet-hop character and smashed grapefruit.
Great beer, glad there were able to bring it back after 6 months. If only I could keep a stash fresh enough to get me to the next release.

Doing what they say can't be done, the mad alchemists at Lagunitas have seemed to find the fountain of youth for hops. Promising to provide the fresh taste of the hop harvest year round, a pale ale of the brightest character is born again. ...yesterday.
Born Again Yesterday entices the nose with a bold citrus and grass perfume. Tropical in its recesses, the pale and hazy ale carries nuances of herb, melon and spruce. Beyond its creamy white froth, its taste leads with a light honied sweetness with hints of caramel and poundcake to follow.
But as the hops nestle onto the middle palate, its radiant fruit bouquet truly blossoms. Red grapefruit, a tanginess of lime and lemon along with a bold punch of mandarin orange carry the bulk of fruity weight. But a full and rounded palate of pineapple, passionfruit and mango eventually trail into a fruit peel bitterness that carries not so subtle nuances of freshly shaven pine, fresh grass clippings and a gentle waft of cannabis.
Trailing with a neon green taste and bitterness, the medium bodied beer is given structure with a creamy roundness. But the ale trends drying and crisp as its hop resins, moderate and peppery alcohol, and fleeting malts all usher in a highly refreshing and thirst quenching session with utmost hop complexity. It's an unfailing choice, right down to its bitter and grassy linger in the throat.

Pours a hazy orange tinted yellow with a thick white head that refused to give in until half my beer was gone. The aroma is a mix of orange, pineapple and other fruits. Plenty of the same in the flavor with some bitterness to balance things out. Nice amount of carbonation makes this beer dangerously drinkable for the 7% abv. Overall a very nice beer.
