Notes: We’ve discovered that the Lagunitas brewers are part time alchemists... they’ve figured out how to keep wet hops wet all freakin’ year long! Born Again Yesterday Pale Ale, which features a delicious concoction of wet hops, reborn and unfiltered into our Born Yesterday Pale Ale. Congrats... It’s a beer again!

12 oz. bottled.
Born on 10/07/2019.
Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 5/4 inch white head over a fairly bright golden body with some sticky lacing. Subdued nose of tropical fruit, citrus and slight dank pine. Taste mirrors nose very nicely, well balanced, and finishing dank and dry. Nice feel and overall, yeah, I'd have another one. Cheers!!

Pouring from a 12 oz. glass into a becher glass. This beer pours a golden color with slight sediment floating throughout. Hardly forms any crown, just an outer ring of foam attached to the glass. The smell is pungent with sweet fruit. Citrus and dank but could bring more. The taste comes in dank in the form of almost being hemp. Without the nasty burnt smell I've gotten from hemp IPAs. It's like it's being burned instead of burnt, if that makes sense. Slight crystal like taste, sticky mouthfeel with finishing SLIGHTLY dry. It's a good one but not something I would search for or even by every year.

Poured from a 12oz bottle, Borned on 10/8/18; into a pint glass.
Appearance- clear, golden with swirling bubbles; thin, soapy white head that leaves minimal lace.
Smell - dank sticky icky, cat piss and citrus!
Taste- fruity, primarily tangerine, grapefruit and hints of kiwi and peach!
Feel - slightly sweet, definitely bitter and super easy to kick back with, even at over 7%!
Overall- I totally enjoy this, as I usually do most Lagunitas hoppy offerings, my only qualm is...unfiltered, really???

A: Bright tangerine orange pour has a bready topping, 1/4 inch, that was shortly lived. Dense nature in the vessel, with a good amount of healthy carbonation within. No window dressing. A juicy appearance leads to great expectations.

S: Fresh pink grapefruit, citrusy underlyings of pine resins are first on the nose. Dank tangerines, lightly tart citrus sourness with a nice strength and a faint wiff of wet grassiness.

T: Lots of tangerines and oranges loaded with sticky pine resins. Dank citrus and grapefruit with a good flowery dry hop bite on the finish. Flowery pine, lingering, with bittering grapefruit peel.

M: Juicy dank citrus juice on the mouthful, lots of malt support, thick and juicy.

O: Hard to go wrong with a Lagunitas. Lots of dank citrus and pine resins with a dry hop fade off the tongue. Citrusy, very enjoyable, juicy and multiple worthy.

My rating for this beer is specific to "Born Again Yesterday Unfiltered Ale" [Summer 2018 - Chicago, Illinois] ...The descriptive words, "Pale Ale"are not on the label. unlike the current Winter 2018 run of "Born Again Yesterday Pale Ale"

A bought a case of Unfiltered Ale and each time I have one my rating on it keeps going up! The Lagunitas Brewing Company is consistently excellent with everything they produce!

Unfiltered, hazy, delicious looking orange beer with a white head that dissapears pretty fast.

Nose: A lot of tropical fruit here! Orange, passion fruit, mango, peach, apricot and pine.
Taste: Fuity, mango, grapefruit, citrus, orange peel and apricot.
Mouth: Medium body. Medium carbonated. A bitter ending.

Refreshing beer and great this hot summer!

Pours a hazy yellow, small white head that fades quickly, no noticeable lacing.
Aroma is almost like opening a container of recently cut ripe tropical fruit, with a hint of pine. Flavor is citrus, hops and sweet malts. I'm always leery of buying 12 packs of something I've never had before, but I thought "WTF, it's Lagunitas", can't go wrong there.

12oz bottle date on 12pk = 8 116
Hazy, peach color with a 1/2" white sudsy head that falls to a cap quickly.
Ripe citrus and tropical fruits - big passion fruit with some piney character in the mix. Clean, ripe aromas. Sweet malt base.
Nicely balanced flavor, sweet malts and plenty of hops so that it ends up dry. The hops are again ripe and tangy in the finish, there's a point in here where something feels overripe but it's mid-palate and ends up with a nice fruit filled finish.
Mouthfeel is right on for the style, all good here.
I thought Born Yesterday was INCREDIBLE and I'll hold that one up over this one but this is really enjoyable and I like what Lagunitas is trying to do with this beer.

Lagunitas has another good iteration of an American Pale Ale! Nose is good with a lot of hoppy dankness...taste follows closely...a balanced fresh hoppy-ness hits the pallete...Not sure of the IBUs on this one, but you don't get hit with an overwhelming bitterness at the end.

Pours a very cloudy dark amber color. The head is white and disappears rather quickly. Lacing is minimal and splotchy.
Smells tropical and somewhat floral. Very aromatic. Orange peel and sour pineapple come to mind.
Taste is fruity and sweet up front and just straight up bitter through the middle to the end. If you need a hops fix this one will do it.
Mouthfeel is soft, and surprisingly silky. Carbonation is enjoyable.

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color—too hazy to see any visible carbonation—and has some faint hues of amber. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down, leaving a path of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of floral and grassy hops are present in the nose along with hints of citrus.
T: The taste follows the smell and has a little stronger flavors of citrusy hops, with grapefruit standing out in particular. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I thought that this APA had a unique mix of aromas and flavors from the hops, particularly from the floral and grass aromas and flavors that you would normally expect from a pilsener.

Poured a light golden color with a 2F head in a Tulip.

Vanilla, earthy, fruit aroma.

Great taste. Heavy citrus followed by a in-your-face bitterness.

Interesting juxtaposition of flavors: vanilla, citrus, earthy accompanied by a good bitterness.

Another great lagunitas beer. I am not much of a beer taster, but there is a distinct lagunitas flavor that comes through in almost every hoppy beer I've tasted from them. This beer has that and then some.

I was a little disappointed that this hypes itself as super fresh but came to my local store about 2 months post bottling (in norcal, less than 50 miles from Petaluma.)

Nonetheless, its flavor delivered and at $18 for a 12er, why shouldn't I get 3x the buzz of buying some fancy pants $20 4-pack of 16oz cans?

I would like to see a better taster than me line up Sucks, Maximus, Born Yesterday (or again), Hop Stoopid, and maybe even Little Sumpin' and do a blind test. To me they are all very similar.

Bottle from ABV.

Poured carefully, this beer is a clear light copper with a dense, off-white head with good retention and lacing . The nose is excellent with a fantastic blend of bright pungency and joyful fruitiness. Pine, orange peel, tropical fruit, passionfruit, nectarines are all present. Malt character is minimal. The palate opens bright with juicy and bitter hops - peach juice, green grape juice, grapefruit juice, all with varying degrees of bitterness and sweetness, complementing each other yielding a dank, pine and weed-like character, Malt character is minimal. Drying on the finish with moderate bitterness, this beer is medium-light in body, moderately carbonated and delicious. This 2018 release is better than even the 2018 Waldo's, if you ask me.

Like Bergman shooting a scene, like Babe Ruth swinging a bat, like Kobe (to hell with MJ and Lebron) shooting a 3 pointer, like Alexis Ren taking a pose... Lagunitas know what they are doing when it comes to making beer. Not the best, but like the middle Kardashian, it’s spot on. Light, tropical, hoppy like a raccoon on a trampoline... yep!

Coded 118 (I think, it's hard to see), 4/28. Enjoyed 5/19.
L. Cloudy peach/tangerine color with an almost white head.
S. Fruit juiciness of preach, orange, apricot, mango, pineapple among others with a bit of pine tree.
T. Very nice. Bitter compared to the aroma. Mango, grapefruit, pithy orange, pine in the background, a little bit of honey. Bitter in the end.
F. Full side of a medium body but soft and goes down really easy. Low to moderate carbonation, resinous and somewhat dry in the finish.
O. Flavorful and refreshing, and plenty of hoppy bitterness. I can dig it. Cheers ! ! !

The beer pours out a medium hazy dark golden orange color, with 1 finger of off white head-------------- the aromas are of pungent mango and guava, pine, dank weed, orange and grapefruit(smells amazing) --------------- the flavors are of grapefruit, pine, orange, dank weed and a grassyness, the beer has a full mouthfeel with a moderate bitterness on the finish------------- overall I am in love with this beer it is the perfect east coast meets west coast ipa, the nose is almost all east coast with that pungent tropical fruit then the flavors are prominently west coast with that citrus and pine, and it all comes together with a beautiful full mouthfeel, the best lagunitas beer I have had

Bottled 4/6/18; drank 5/6/18 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy orange appearance.

A violent pour yielded a minimal white head; decent lace.

Lemon, pine & mild cane sugar notes in the nose.

Sticky medium mouthfeel.

Lemon, pine & dry grass flavors.

Not a real pleasure cruise here; tongue bruising flavors. Not one I'll seek out again.

My good friend Hutchie gave me a bottle of this tasty treat during hockey tryouts at the Fuel tank in Indy. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had pine and citrus presence. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with citrus peel and pine flare. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.

Pours a beautiful and bright sunshine yellow orange with a very gentle and nice haze and a fluffy two finger plump head of foam.

Bright tropical and citrus fruit notes of orange, mango, pineapple, and other citrus notes.

Juicy citrus fruit right up front gives way to tropical fruit character and finishes with a juicy, fruity, and slightly grassy dank finish.

Light-medium bodied, medium-high carbonation, juicy, soft, smooth.

Overall, quite an exceptional brew all around!

Had on tap. Maybe it is the tap effect, but I like this "yesterday" version just a touch more than the original. The unfiltered nature gives it more fullness in the nose. Otherwise like the original in that it is a great west coast pale ale with a beautiful hop combo and tropical fruits

Whiffs of nice citrus fruits.....pineapple, papaya, grapefruit, light pine and just juiciness.

Tastes of more citrus and a nice bitter hops. Big bitter on the swallow and lingering salivating finish. Very refreshing.

Overall another winner. Pale Ale? Drinks like an IPA but I have no complaints. Solid.

Fairly clear golden unfiltered ale. Decent head production and retention.

Juicy on the nose, primarily citrus, but with touches of grass, resin, and tropical fruit.

Flavor follows, heavily favoring juicy hop notes. On the back half, there's a modest dank note, but that's not the focus of the beer (at least not with over a month of age on it). Pale grains provide a nice canvas for the hops. A touch oily on the finish.

A very nice beer, and one whose hop character likely evolves over weeks. Between four and six weeks old, this is still a beauty of an IPA.
