A healthy dose of 2-row malted barley, a bit of wheaty-esque-ish-ness and loads of Ekuanot hops to create a super smooth and velvety ale with a fruit and resin-y- finish like biting into a freshly pickled peach. Easy!

After having finished a 12 pack of their excellent 12th of Never Ale, this was a huge disappointment. This tastes like 12th of Never mixed with bong water.

EDIT:
Three Sumpin' Easys later, I think that this beer takes a while to get used to. It's just another wild and crazy Lagunitas.

Taster at brewery. Bright golden with skin of head, leaves sheets of lacing. Light fruity aroma turns into floral hoppt bitterness. Strong biscuit malts underneath. Easy is a good description. Light.

another hoppy light one from lagunitas, not as dry nor as bitter as 12th of never, so not quite as sessionable, but still built from a similar mold, mostly dry hopped this one, some wheat in the mash, pale straw colored, a mass appeal beer that also has some uniqueness, not enough of these in craft anymore, pretty much any fan of ipa, pale, or even blonde ale should appreciate this, wheat beer folks too, it does a little bit of everything while also being quite simple. not all the way clear, but close to it, frothy white headed, aroma of stone fruit, meyer lemon, and over ripe cantaloupe, drippy and tropical with orange and mango nuance as it warms and a close to identical flavor, which does build in some dry cereal character from the pale malts and carries just a little residual sweetness through the finish where some bitterness would maybe have done better for all day drinking, but there is exceptional balance to this, and there is no limit to how many of them i can drink, even from the tall cans. it still has some crispness, in part due to such a clean ferment, and in part because the hops are like addicting to me, they climax a little early which is cool, because then by the end of each sip i kind of immediately want another, nice carbonation here too. solid, perhaps under appreciated little beer here, the low alcohol ipa type will always be in style for me, and i liked this a lot better than i like the new low calorie daytime, which is just a shell of its former self. this still has its soul intact, nice!

19.2oz can - review from notes

This is what I expected their Super Cluster pale to taste like. Just a hoppy pale ale, nothing more, nothing less. Full on hop assault with not much else to it. A weird metalilic aftertaste.... (I've noticed this with a lot of Lagunitas beers)

Solid

Nice easy sipping pale ale. A bit on the hoppy side, but with some nice malting as well. It had a good nose with a bit of floral hops to it. The feel was medium and wet.

Golden pour of 12 oz can, hoppy nose, decent head that quickly dissipated. Mouth feel was pleasant, well carbonated. Very little malt taste on the tongue, with overwhelming grapefruit initial taste and after taste.

Lacks sufficient malt to counter balance the grapefruit hops. While styled as a pale ale, it's more an IPA piney grapefruit finish and aftertaste. Literally grapefruit juice and seltzer. Disappointing.

Idiotic 19.2oz can (No date but the code is 28801120881040) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a bright, clean, clear gold color with an inch of white head that good retention and light lacing.

Frooty hops popped out of the can, but in the glass the hops had a brighter citrus scent, over some sweet malts.

On the tongue, the malty sweetness was at the front, and a bitter citrus bite at the back.

The body was medium-light, smooth, and had a semi-sweet finish.

Drinkability was OK, but 19+oz at a time made the beer too boring.

Overall, another middle-of-the-road IPA from these guys.

Pours a clear amber with adequate foam in the Saxo tulip. This is definitely an unusual flavor and aroma. Smells of canteloupe and damp earth with pencil shavings in the nose. More aromas and tastes of dark fruit, cedar, and a hint of green apricot, with that interesting musty tang.

Rather bitter aftertaste and a lingering astringent bite on the tongue. This is kind of interesting but it seems to tire the palate for some reason. From the 12 oz can purchased at Trader Joes. Julian Date 239 which puts it canned in late August 2020.

19.2oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $1.99. Canned on Julian Date 143 (5/22/20), so this is slightly over 3 1/2 months old.

Look: Deep golden color, perfect clarity. Fizzy little bubbles rising up. Nice one-finger head upon pour, but reduced to a thin film now with some nice lacing.

Smell: Very pleasant aromas - peachy, floral, and slightly dank and piney. Some other subtle tropical fruit notes, but nothing that is easily discerned. I get a faint coconut aroma on the back end.

Taste: Very well balanced and refreshing. This is so easy to drink, which is great because it's a tall-boy can. Flavors follow the nose up front with nice fruitiness and sweetness, then there is a lingering resinous and pithy bitterness on the back end that leaves a dry finish. Makes you want to quench your thirst with another gulp.

Feel: Medium bodied.

Overall: This is a very solid offering. If you like pale ales that have a decent amount of bittering, you'll like this. You could call it a "west coast pale ale." I could see how a lot of the new school folks would not enjoy this due to the bitter finish. Also impressive that this beer tastes quite fresh at 3 1/2+ months old.
