This out-of-this-world ale is a galactic blast from the glass, a Citra supernova in the sky, jettisoning lupulin lusciousness through the cosmos and across the universe of your palate. Enter its bitter orbit and we'll all float on, okay? Cheers!

An aggressive pour produces a dense white head atop a brilliantly clear yellow gold body with streaming carbonation from the base of my stemmed tulip bulb glass. The head drops quickly leaving an uneven soapy lace. From the nose I get mostly big resinous spruce and maybe some malt. It drinks smooth with good body and a taste that starts with a touch of honey-like sweetness, followed by a malt dominant middle that then ends with a definitive spruce like bitterness that fades and leaves me wanting for more. A most excellent beer that packs a punch with no discernible heat, an interestingly dynamic hop malt interplay and near perfect mouthfeel.

Old style west coast IPA; very crushable for a DIPA; good citra hops, perfect balanced with the malt; on point carbonation. A timeless beer, no question!

12 oz. can, no canning information / date. Finally reviewing this one from Lagunitas.

Poured to Brasserie D'achouffe stemware.
Body is a brassy golden; more clarity than expected. Finger and a half or so of frothy doughy off-white head.
Aroma is bready, earthy, herbal, slightly floral. A bit musty, with hints of caramel. Has that note of horseradish I sometimes find.
Interesting flavors for sure: big herbal hop bitterness, notes of pine, and tons of unique citrus fruit flavors. Guava, grapefruit, papaya, indistinct berry flavors. Piney, bitter, & resinous, but floral at times.
Feel is smooth & clean, super easy drinking for the high abv. Bitter & resinous finish.
Overall, a nice IPA from Lagunitas as always, was looking forward to trying this one again and it did not disappoint.

simple beer in a good way, a clear, all citra double ipa, bitter enough, west coast all the way, like ipa used to be, not enough beers like this in the world anymore, and one that can really sneak up on you, i prefer the draft to the cans, but both are solid, and this is one of the less appreciated lagunitas beers for whatever reason, deserves more love. golden honey color with high shine, nice carbonation, and enough airy white head to look real appealing. aroma of earthy malt behind familiar citra hops, which sometimes doesnt work great in a single hop context, which i think this is, but in this instance its more dynamic because the beer is also bitter. minerals in the mix, familiar lagunitas house ale yeast, pretty dry overall. you would almost think there is some simcoe or centennial or something in this, its got a little woodsy character we dont usually associate with citra, and i like this aspect of this, more of it as it warms too. light breadiness to the grain profile, prominent oily slickness in terms of texture but a lighter body for the style and enough carbonation to wash each sip pretty clean from the palate. tidy beer, nicely refined, freakishly drinkable for its strength, dont sleep on this one, its a banger! fades fast though, freshness really matters with this one...

Pours out a dark gold color with a small white foam head. The smell is somewhat fruity with peach or apricot and possibly citrus. Overall, a very good beer from Lagunitas.

First review in a long time. This might be surprising to most, but Super Cluster is actually hard to find where I live. I finally gave this a shot. Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Looks - Golden - honey and somewhat straw-like. Nice Persistant off-white foamy head. Nice licing. Some people said this looks hazy..I don't know where they got that. It is not hazy at all. Pretty clear golden honey.

Smells - Citrus and apricot. Maybe some grapefruit with a hint of mango. Some maltiness lingers, not that present though. Fruity, lightly spicy with light herbal quality (Jade and pine).

Taste- Much more delicate than the aroma would let on. A nice light tangerine sweetness with a slightly powerful bitterness that lingers for awhile. Mildly spicy, lightly pine and lavender/jade/rosemary in quality. Pretty dank in the finish with some maltiness as well. I kind of get a bubblegum or JuicyFruit quality at the start - very hard to place this flavor. Maybe mamay or mango? Flavors relatively light and delicate though, but fruit and bitter dominate. Almost tastes like the standard Lagunitas IPA, just drier. This is not a bad thing. I never realized that the standard Lagunitas IPA could be improved with just a little more dry hopping.

Feel - Medium effervescent. Not too fizzy, but you can definitely feel the carbonation. Mouth feel is pretty light, which is a nice surprise for a beer that is clocking in at 8% abv. Very easy drinking, goes down smooth. Mouth feels slightly dry, almost as if the beer has some tannins (not sure if they managed to get tannins in this brew).

Overall, I like this. I love the Lagunitas standard IPA for many reasons..and this gave me a similar experience except almost everything was better. The taste was delicate and enjoyable..it almost tastes like a session beer but you can't treat this as a session beer with that high of an abv. The smell is amazing..maybe one of the best things about this beer. It just smells tasty. The feel is great - a hefty brew packing delicate yet complex flavors AND it is light in feel? All wrapped in a beautiful looking beer and you really start to think that maybe Lagunitas used cheat codes to create this brew. Nice work.

Piney and clear finish. Interesting and unique for the style. Would highly recommend for the price. Some people may be turned off by the sweetness.

kinda broke this week but it's 92 outside and it called for a crisp but strong beer for a late afternoon sit on the porch, snagged a cheap pack of these and boy does it do the trick. poured into a pint glass a nice crystal clear golden honey, with a pretty finger n a half of foam resting atop that's settled down to a few floaters and a ring of clingy lacing. on the nose there's lots of bitter grapefruit pith, skunky resin(in a good way), grass, honey and caramel, with underlying notes of lightly toasted biscuits and fresh orange juice. the caramel-y malts hit the mouth first but are almost immediately taken over by a nice grapefruit n pine that you expect from old ipas, with hints of grassiness coming through and then returning to that sweet bread profile. there's a nice lingering citrus-y bitterness here that i always love in these types. these go down very smoothly and creep up on you with a nice warmth in the belly halfway through the beer. medium bodied and decently carbonated, it's a nice beer to throw back that will get you flying high in no time. thanks to the weather for making me want to sit outside again and thanks to the grocery store for knocking a buck off a pack of these, i'll buy em again either way
