Clean this mess up or else we'll all end up in jail...those test tubes and the scale...just get 'em all outta here..." He was referring to the complex super-critical-CO2 hop extraction equipment set up on the table in the lab across from the brewhouse. Hop extracts are for the BIG brewers, he thought - suitable only for crummy sub-standard and barely-passable industrial lagers, not the subtle and elegant craft beer made here. But wrong he was. The New Brewer does not eschew any possible inputs. In this case the mountain of extracts will replace the mountain of hop vegetative material in the kettle thus creating cleaner hop flavors and preventing the otherwise spinach-like mess of a kettle full of super-hopped wort from clogging up a pump or worse. The sensuous honey-like amber ooze was administered intravenously to the wort kettle and the sacrament was complete. Another kettle of Hop Stoopid is once again raised up and fermented on high.

A - Nice golden color with good head retention. On the lower side of the SRM scale for an IPA.
S - AROMA IS AWESOME. Citrus power to the max!!
T - Citrusy, spicy flavors. I actually get a slight malty profile in the flavor as an aftertaste which is a nice balance. I love the citrus though.
M - medium body most definately. good carbonation levels and not too high of a FG.
D - I had this one with pizza and fried pickles and it went well. I know you aren't supposed to have beer with spicy foods and be able to review it well, however I finished the review prior to enjoying my pickles!!! :-) However, most IPAs will always do better with something more heavy like meats or something more balanced like cheeses.
I really enjoyed this beer. I mean I have had several of Lagunita's beers before and I have not really enjoyed them. However, how can you go wrong with a beer called Hop STOOPID!!!! In my opinion, you'd be the stupid one if you didnt at least give this one a fair shot on your list.

Lagunitas is stupid. This beer is disgusting and really sucks for how popular it is.

I wasn’t an IPA fan until a trip to California a few years ago. One of the best memories was a 22oz of the Hop Stoopid.
This batch (6 pack in Ohio) tastes nice and fresh. With this offering from Lagunitas, I actually like the smell better than the taste. There is a delightful pineapple scent.
This is a a tasty IPA that doesn’t disappoint!

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Julian date of 0238, so appears to have been bottled in August of 2020. Quote a bit older than preferred, but here goes ..
Looks fantastic in the glass. Clear deep golden yellow body. Bright foamy white head persists in very good form throughout, leaving excellent lacing.
There is an aroma, pleasant, but hard to describe.
On tasting, it's strong, quite sweet, and although the hops have faded, there is still a hint of clean bitterness. The abv is apparent.
Mouth close to full, finish bittersweet.
Overall, at this age, still a decent drink. Will re-review if I find one fresh off the line and it's significantly different.
