S: 22oz bomber poured into tall bellmouth glass

A: Nice golden yellow to orange haze color with a solid 2-3 finger bright white head. This lead to a great lacing through out the glass.

Sm: I wasn't sure how hoppy this would since its age/shelf life was unclear and also my first try of this beer (Ididnt check the bottle to well either lol) The smell was a bit underpowering, I wanted a bit more punch, more fruityness. citrus and pine were there though. I will have to get a fresher bottle to compare.

T: 8% but didnt taste it, in a good way. nice hop profile, went down very easy.

M: clean and smooth, just the way i like it. It didn't bite to hard for a double/IIPA.

O: A truly amazing beer! I was very happy with my purchase and i will keep this as a stand by/staple in my fridge(fresh of course) the price point on this is what really shocked me $4.99 and i see it cheaper other places. wow! talk about bang for your buck. Great job Lagunitas. you have got yourself another happy customer.

A- Clean, translucent light straw color. I'm not real big on the lack of quality color with this one, but the retention and lacing more than makes up for it. Those aspects are amazing.

S- No surprise here that Lagunitas blows me away with the aroma of their IPA. Dense, wet citrus/tropical hops, malt that is sweet as can be with a candy like confection. This brewery is always a pleasure to the olfactory.

T- A true example of a IIPA. Sweeter than some...yeah, probably so. Hops off the hook tho with a big malty body. Mixture of mango, pineapple, and resinous hop oils. The sweet malt backbone is of caramel, mint, and even a powder-like candy such as fun sticks. Some spicy, acid astringency in the finish.

M- A bit light on the body, but an overall nice feel that isn't lacking in juicy, creamy goodness. Don't be fooled by the initial sweetness, as the bitterness fights back in the finish. The drinkability does benefit from the soft body.

O- I likes. Intensely juicy hop profile that meshes so well with the sugary sweet malt base. At its price point, it is hard to beat.

$3.49 for a 22 oz bottle

Damn near perfect. The smell told me it was gonna be good, it was. Very satisfied first taste. Just fill your nose then have a big taste, this is what a IPA should taste like as far as I am concerned. I have tasted a couple of better but this one runs in the same family of brews for sure.

22oz bomber

Appearance - a playful carbonation in a finger of off-white smooth foam head, light amber color

Smell - Strong citrus, lemon peel and grapefruit come to mind, on top of that is an earthiness and sweet pale malts

Taste - the front isn't dominated by the citrus but more of the earth and hop resins that add a touch of spice, midmouth also has some malt sweetness and grains, the finish is plenty bitter and boozy

Mouthfeel - medium body with a slightly milky consistency, average fade

Overall - this beer was exceptional. For the amount of IBUs I wasn't expecting such a nice balance. I'll have another with some seafood and white sauce.
