Appearance: Pours a delightfully rich orange color with a solid 1-2 finger head of foam. A little bit lighter than I would have expected coming from a DIPA but very impressive none the less.

Smell: Very wonderful aroma, easily detectable citrus fruits with just a hint of spices. Delightful scent, the 8% ABV is hidden extremely well.

Taste: At 8% and 102 IBU's this DIPA is without a doubt one of the best I have had the pleasure of trying. Lagunitas' best brew in my opinion. The drink-ability is spectacular with a smooth fruity and crisp hoppy flavor. Very enjoyable, citrus taste with a minute spicy finish. The alcohol is hidden so nicely.

Mouth feel: Nicely carbonated with a wave of hoppyness, flavors morph into a sweet tangy taste. Mouth feel is great, very smooth very drinkable.

Overall: Definitely one of my favorite DIPA's that I have tried thus far. This beer is an eye-opener and it will leave you stunned and wanting more with each sip. I was quite surprised with Beer Advocate's rating of a 94, although 94 is an exceptional rating, I believe Hop Stoopid deserves at least a 95 or greater. From what I can tell this brew comes highly recommended and is simply fantastic.

At first glance, this doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary, however one would be mistaken. This pours a light amber orange in color and a nice frothy head to top it off.

Smells of piney and citrusy hops with a bready backbone.

This tastes better than a $5 bomber! One would never expect to be treated by this beautiful balance of citrus, sweet ale malt, and a hint of the Pacific Northwest ;).

Mouthfeel is like biting a magical pinecone filled with oranges and grapefruit.

Overall this is definitely a go to brew considering its perfect balance, ABV, and of course it's price tag!

It pours an orange gold with a decent white head and a hop explosion as it hits the glass. There is no doubt what you are in for with this beer and the initial taste was of juicy grapefruit with a slight bitter citrus that has a sweet malt body to keep it balanced. The Hop Stoopid is surprisingly easy to drink and leaves a wonderful hoppy coating on your palate. This is a great IIPA and delivers a hop bomb while keeping the beer balanced and drinkable.

S: 22oz bomber poured into tall bellmouth glass

A: Nice golden yellow to orange haze color with a solid 2-3 finger bright white head. This lead to a great lacing through out the glass.

Sm: I wasn't sure how hoppy this would since its age/shelf life was unclear and also my first try of this beer (Ididnt check the bottle to well either lol) The smell was a bit underpowering, I wanted a bit more punch, more fruityness. citrus and pine were there though. I will have to get a fresher bottle to compare.

T: 8% but didnt taste it, in a good way. nice hop profile, went down very easy.

M: clean and smooth, just the way i like it. It didn't bite to hard for a double/IIPA.

O: A truly amazing beer! I was very happy with my purchase and i will keep this as a stand by/staple in my fridge(fresh of course) the price point on this is what really shocked me $4.99 and i see it cheaper other places. wow! talk about bang for your buck. Great job Lagunitas. you have got yourself another happy customer.
