look: 4.5 | smell: 4.75 | taste: 5 | feel: 4.75 | overall: 4.75

This brew pours a clear brown color with a fluffy white head, some of which stays on top of the brew until the end. Thick lacing and good carbonation.

The smell is tropical fruits, pineapple, melon, orange, lemon and pine. If you let the brew warm up a little there is also a thick, bready malt smell.

The taste follows the nose, everything is well balanced. There is a pineapple, melon, grapefruit and orange taste then a bready malt taste in the middle followed by an oily hop taste left on the tongue at the end. Everything goes down smoothly. Although this brew is listed at 102 IBU it does not taste that bitter; that is a good thing. This brew delivers on the hops without burning off one's tongue. Everything is well balanced.

The mouthfeel is thick, chewy and bready. Everything goes down smoothly with a little bit of hop oil left on the tongue after swallowing.

Overall this is another winner from Lagunitas. It manages to deliver on the hops while also keeping many subtle tastes in the brew. In other words, the hops are there but not overpowering. Lagunitas has achieved great hop bitterness without destroying the tongue.

Poured from a 22 oz bomber into a snifter.

A - Very clear translucent tangerine color with about two fingers of fluffy white head, good retention. Leaves excellent lacing on the glass.

S - Typical Lagunitas nose huge tropical fruit and citrus. Apples, pears, pineapple, grapefruit. Amazing!

T - Similar to the nose, first the tropical fruit hit you followed by a sweet grapefruit. Afterwards you get a mix of nice sweet caramel malt and some piney bitterness to clean things up. Even though this is 102 IBU's it dosnt taste nearly that bitter.

M - On the heavy side of medium, almost a mild syrupy feel but still very drinkable. Medium carbonation.

O - This beer is awesome, tons of my favorite tropical hop scents and taste. At a 4 dollar price point you cant really beat that.Love it!
