As the label proclaims this has a rich copper hue and a stiff thick head of off white foam. There's a large number of carbonation bubbles that course through the body that weakens the appearance.
The nose is a malt bomb. Molasses, maple, tea leaves, even prune, date and raisin all come to the surface.
The flavor reminds me of figs, with sorghum and caramel malt. I get a bit of molasses and maple with a back of pecans.
The feel is quite thick, very smooth with a bitter after taste.
Very unorthodox in its approach this copper ale is nicely diverse and quite flavorful.

Clear copper with piles of honeycombed ecru foam. 4
Orange rind, caramel chews, + a surprise bit of pencil erasers. 3.75
Toffee on crispbread, some banana taffy, a bit of tin, then middling grass, herbal + lemon peel hops. 3.5
Almost medium, some chew, round. 3.75
This sat or got warm or… something. “197” dating code is July, so this is actually pretty fresh, but there are some odd fruity esters popping out that I’m not expecting in anything Lagunitas. That pineappley house yeast playing tricks with crystal malts? I don’t know but - along with being underhopped + a bit thin - this is totally falling flat for me.
Mr Magee, please report to the Heineken QC Dept. immediately. 3.25

As far as ambers go this is leans more on the hoppy side. Not overly bitter but not a super sweet. Aroma is very bready, some butterscotch for sure, almost smells like a big lager - I wonder if they used lager style yeast for this one? Carbonation is about right. Mouth feel is real nice, a bit creamy but definitely not overly carbed. Taste is very malty on the front end, bright/sweet hop finish. This might be a good gateway beer for those who are trying to ease into the IPA craze. Overall a great beer although not sure it's a true amber due to the bittering hops.

A: The beer is clear amber in color and has no visible signs of carbonation. It poured with an off white head that died down leaving some lacing on the surface and a ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are sweet aromas of caramel in the nose.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and has notes of caramel and toasted malts in the flavor along with hints of sweetness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and somewhat smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer is easy to drink and goes down rather smoothly.

Poured a nice light copper color with a thick pillowy head.
Smell was very piney.
Taste was a nice mixture of toasty bready malt flavors with a nice light blast of piney hop goodness.
Mouthfeel is full and creamy.
Very nice easy drinking Amber, more flavor and hop goodness than your typical offering of this style.

This "Rich Copper Ale," as the bottle proclaims, pours a--wait for it--copper color with a nice finger and a half of pillowy head. Smell is a touch hoppy with herbal notes. The taste follows suit with light herbal hops, a balanced amount of malt, and some orange and lemon zest in the finish. The balance makes for a nice mouthfeel and a pleasant, leafy finish. As smooth and easy as this bottle went down, I found the drinkability to be excellent. What a great surprise from Lagunitas!

Copper in color just as it says on the label. Good amount of head gives way to a ring of lace.
Smell is rich and full of malt with a hop offering that doesn't offend.
Taste is very nice. Well rounded in every aspect. Caramel and doughy mainstay with hops peeking out once in a while.
If this wasn't 7.7% abv it would make very excellent session beer as it is oh so easy to drink.

Pours a hazy copper color, one finger head, decent retention and lacing (honestly, Lagunitas brews always lace wonderfully). Smell is of sweet carmel, bready malts, a faint touch of spice and even a little apple. Taste follows scent with a quite sweet carmel taste followed by breadier malts. Very muted hop presence for a Lagunitas brew. Traces of apple again noted. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, ample carbonation, somewhat crisp. I expected a little more umph out of this brew, but very good and actually a nice easy drinker.
