Still in Laurel.
Pours crystal clear amber with a tan head that has decent retention and sticky side glass lace.
Smell: Musky malts, bread, some caramel sweetness.
Taste: Malts lead along with some sweetness. Caramel hops come across and add a little bitter bite in the finish.

Smell- caramel and malt.
Taste- more of the same. Caramel, malt and bread. Very sweet
Feel- medium to thick
Overall- good beer. Sweet malts and caramel flavor make for a good amber ale.

I LOVE Laguniats, but this is the first beer I've had by them that I did not particularly care for. It had a very odd flavor that I can't quite place. Not that this isn't a good beer by any means, but it just isn't for me.

Great malt-focused beer from Lagunitas. Clean copper appearance. Mix of toasty, Carmel, and hop bitterness. Clean finish.

Brings out the reddish amber ale color scheme to fit the bill style wise. Good clarity, reeks of caramel and copper stuff.

Slightly boozy, already doesn't do what most of the hoppy offerings from Lagunitas does. Furthermore, this one really hits up the brassy coppery hop mouth feel, while hitting the caramel by the truckload red ale vibe. Significant bitterness. Originally named Chronic, I guess this is also pretty similar to Pizza Port's Carlsbad Chronic. Which I guess I do need to point out, this is better than your average red ale, I just have really high expectations with Lagunitas.

If you like C hoppy reds, I would recommend it, but at the same time, this isn't even their best hoppy red ale. But it does come in the 6 pack format so it has that going for it unlike Lucky 13 (as far as I'm aware).

A: [3.50] The bottle lists the ABV (6.7%) it also has a date code that translates to 07/10/16. Seriosly... Julian date guys? The beer has 1/2 finger of off white head with fair retention. The beer is a nice caramel color.

S: [2.75] There are no strong scents. Maybe some brown bread.

T: [3.25] Follows the nose. Very mild flavoring. Some caramel and brown bread. A dusting of hoppiness on the finish. The flavor does intensify as it warms up a bit.

M: [3.50] Average body and slightly above average carbonation. Nothing lingering too long on the finish.

O: [3.25] Underwhelmed bu not turned off. If has nothing to make me seek it out but nothing to make me stop drinking it. This is a "meh" beer.
