I'd rather have a Yuengling lager for a fraction of the price. It's not nearly as quaffable or satisfying yet quite more expensive. I pray that a day never comes where I order a lager and this is served.

Aroma is malts/grains and citrus/sugar/almost skittles. The flavor is fruit/citrus, malts/grains and a mix of smooth and tart/dry/hoppy in the finish.

Pours a clear bright yellow with a thick white head that falls away fairly quickly. Minimal lacing. Aroma is mild, citrus, corn, biscuits. Flavor is much more potent than the nose would suggest, sweet citrus up front with a great hop punch in the finish. Feel is light and crisp. Overall a fantastic summer beer with more flavor than any beer I can remember drinking at 5% ABV.

We are CANticipating CANother scorcher of a day & I am drinking Lager-style & fruited CANned beers in an effort to beat the heat. I have been (mostly) homebound these past four/five weeks following a prostatectomy & it has given me the CANportunity to sift through the backlog here at Chez Woody. I have uncovered all sorts of beers to CANstitute brewery horizontals, but today is just going to be odds & sods.

From the CAN: "... They weren't working for either side this time; they were only trying to get back something that had been lost …"; "Limited Release Summer Lager"; "Not a personal flotation device. No shirt, no shoes, no problem. Flip-flops optional. This deluxe libation vessel best operated under primo conditions, including but not limited to: poolside, beachfront, river’s edge, lake view, hot tub adjacent, pre skinnydipping, aprés watersliding, water ballooning, inner tubing, outer bodying, fjord frolicking, conjuring Cthulhu, or simply sand-running in sssuper slo-mo."; "Enjoy this limited-edition Lagunitas Lagur wherever, all summer long. Life is uncertain, don't sip. Call us! 707.769.4495 Cheers!"

Wherever?!? Man, I'm taking these CANs to Max Lagur's farm for the groovy scene happening there! I Crack!ed one open in the interim just for QA purposes as henceforth outlined, dig? I had my fave Pils glass at the ready & I beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug as soon as the vent was accessed. Man, it was freaky beautiful the way that it formed the most outta sight two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head that hung in even in the face of the rising heat & humidity. Color was a far-out Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, causing The Gelt Gang of Midas, Croesus & Mammon to rouse themselves off of my living room couch & come into the kitchen for a taste. Groovy, man! Nose had a clean malty sweetness, no funky adjuncts in this bad boy. Mouthfeel was medium, good for a Lager. The taste had a clean, tangy maltiness, like floor-malted malts CAN impart, along with a light hoppy spiciness. Don't sip?!? I could hardly CANtrol myself from just drinking the whole thing down in one big gulp! This was mighty tasty & mighty refreshing. Finish was semi-dry & totally thirst-quenching! I CAN def see filling the beach-bound Summer cooler with these CANs. YMMV.

12 oz can, 5% ABV, with the stoopid Julian date on the bottom. I refuse to covert, so who knows the age. Month, date, year works much better, I wish they would just use it.

Looks the part, but seems low on carbonation and head disappeared quickly. Smells nice, honey, sweet, malty. Taste is solid, nothing I would ever crave. It’s very similar to Founders Solid Gold. Easy drinking, but not much else. Feel is soft. The lack of carbonation or hops leaves it with a blah finish.

I would take it over BMC as it does have more flavor, but most any Pilsner would be preferable. I get that craft is trying to lure in the every day drinker, but these beers will need to be priced appropriately or they will go away. They probably can command a slight premium over BMC, but can’t be priced at $10 a 6 pack. If they price 12 or 15 packs reasonably they will be a good pick for a BBQ, golf, fishing, etc.

12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours golden with nice transparency and has bubbles racing upwards; fluffy eggshell white head that falls leaving great thick retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have hops leading the way. There's a nice amount of orange and apricot. Some bread and crackers. Some malts. The flavors follow the nose. More orange and apricot. Some fresh grass. More bread and crackers in the mix. Malts do their thing without dominating. Nice clean moderate bitterness. Finishes juicy and dry at the same time, but it's on the drier side. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is very nice. It's on the fuller side of light-bodied with active carbonation. It's sharp, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a really nice lager. There's some hops in the mix, which doesn't make this one a classic example of the style, but it still has a nice lager vibe going on. It's very clean, crisp, sharp and refreshing. The craftsmanship is on point. I really, really like this one.

12 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 3/16/2019. Pours fairly crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with no yeasty notes present. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a delicious hoppy pale lager. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and fairly crisp/clean to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV, and not aggressive on bitterness. Feels like Citra, Mosaic, Centennial. Very vibrant, and fairly juicy/dank/earthy hops; with a great clean pils malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example as expected.

12oz canned on the 183rd day of 2019...opened 221st day of the year.
1 1/4" white head with a decent length of retention, hangs in at 1/4", deep golden color with good clarity. Foamy lace.
Ripe citrus, lemon, and onion in the hop profile. Some bready malt character under but the hops steal the show.
Zesty hops, some spice...nice pilsner like malt character underneath. Good stuff.
Light bodied, medium to medium high carbonation, not quite crisp but bright. Dry and somewhere between short and medium finish and very easy to drink.
Really enjoying this 12pk of beer. Flavorful, hoppy and refreshing. I'll look forward to it's next release.
