It pours a clear golden color with a piney citrus smell. The taste is also piney citus taste (wife thinks grapefruit) and a good bitterness from the hops. Moutful is thin but not watery, the head last the whole way through. Overall a nice drink just not overwhelming to me.

On tap @ Melting Pot, Boise ID.

A: Chill-hazed but still fairly clear gold with white head and lacing.

S: Fairly floral and citrusy, touch of pine needle, with a crackery pale malt backbone.

T: Follows the nose, clean and floral hoppiness with that same malt character as the aroma.

MF: Light and effervescent, refreshing and adequate for a pale ale.

O: Good, doesn't do anything earth-shattering, but does drink easily.

Pours the color of straw with a smallish head that leaves a lovely lacing behind. Lots of hops on the nose, with some citrus notes. Taste is fairly bitter for a pale ale, but at the same time the malts offer a decent overall balance. A very refreshing beer!

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip

L: Pours a clear medium gold/copper with 3 fingers of foamy white head. Ample lacing.

S: Biscuits and bread. Citrus/lemon zest with tropical flowers and fruit.

T/F: Malty and bready... slightly tart citrus hops... a bit floral with notes of pine and mild spice but the citrus dominates. Not overly bitter. Sticky and effervescent. Finish is lemon rind.

O: A very easy drinking APA. Great citrus flavor.. not too strong or bitter. Good bang for your buck.

Clean looking pale with 1 finger white head, heavy lacing.

Smell is super clean , nice floral/citrusy hops smell.

Taste is very smooth with a nice balance to It , very little bitterness but big hop flavors.

Feel is thin but not watery, just fine for a pale ale.

Overall it's very smooth and drinkable , hides the alcohol well.. Would buy again.

Pours a caramel orange with plenty of carbonation. A nice soft, big, clear, off-white, bubbly head
Smells of bitter Citrus hops and more. Not a huge smell.
A nice piney and citrus hop taste with very good balance in the malt. Leaves a nice hoppy, bitter twang behind.
Great warming feeling left after the crisp hop finish.
Overall, another great APA from Lagunitas.

Pours a clear golden orange, with just under an inch puffy white head. Great retention on the lacing, still covering the top 2 in. of the glass when finished. Wonderful pine and resin smell, tasting similar, as is expected with many Lagunitas ales (see Hop Stoopid and Waldo's Special). Bought a six pack and glad I did.

Man I remember the old recipe for this stuff when it was just eh, not so good. This version, very nice. A blend of that copper and orange color, brings the standard 3/4" white head. Aroma smacks nicely of amarillo hops I believe.

Taste is just solid pale ale all the way. Extremely hoppy with a super mild and dry toasted pale malt base. Very citrus like. I could crush so many of these in a single setting. Its summertime in a bottle. When you don't need juicy ipas, when you don't need session ipas, you just need a real serviceable pale ale. Where this can still be elite 1st tier pale ale is it is the other end of the spectrum from say SNPA. There isn't a real caramel malt impression and sweetness here, this is dry hop vehicle.

Pale golden amber color. Totally clear. Substantial white foam cap with big lace.
Hearty, earthy and subtle fruit hop aroma dominates.
A seriously dry, full and refreshing feel.
Flavor has a very impressive balance of traditional English style malts and earthy, fruity hops. Doesn't ever cross into IPA bitterness, which is nice. Malt and hops are harmonious. Flavor is very bold but easy to throw down.
A go-to pale ale for the ages.

I had this on draught in a bar. It was served in a pint glass. It poured a hazy straw color with a snow white head and extensive lacing that did not dissipate. It smelled of grapefruit, pine needles, and floral hops. It tasted like an IPA: resinous pine, grapefruit, bitter hops, but it was light and crisp. With an ABV of 6.2%, you can easily drink several of these. Overall, it is a really good APA; it's light and drinkable but has a big, bold flavor, as one might expect from Lagunitas.

Pours slightly less than clear pale straw yellow. Tight full white head with great retention an solid side glass lace.
Smell: Hoppy, tart, citrus and Pine.
Taste: Hops dominate but there are sweet malts noted.
This was an enjoyable Pale Ale.

Gold color - very slightly hazy. Great lacing. Great hoppy smell; reminds me of Stone IPA in smell and taste. Hop forward, smell and taste. Floral & piney, dank. Maybe a bit of biscuit but minimal. Dissipates quickly, but leaves a little behind. Good medium thin feel, though maybe slightly over-carbed. Great beer.

This beer pours a clear bright golden color with a two finger soapy white head. Retention is OK and there is some spotted lacing. Smell is citrus, pine and floral hops with some dankness and a touch of sweet malt. Taste is the same. Feel is very light, but slightly resinous on the back end. Overall a solid beer, but I prefer a few other hoppy Lagunitas offerings more.

Poured from a bottle into an old Shrek/McDonalds glass, yes the recalled one. *Dont lick the paint on the glass, it contains lead or chromium, maybe both... Dark, golden, not much in the way of a head or lacing as it goes down, nice show of carbonization. Smells like a good IPA and tastes good too, hoppy. Medium light feel with carbonation working well. Overall a very good beer, one I'd drink alone or share with any craft beer drinker.

Pours a clear golden with a moderate frothy white head and a lace that retains throughout.
The nose hits you with all kinds of hops aromas; an orange twang provides sweetness, grapefruit pith, dank and resiny hops.
The sweetness from the aroma does not really carry over to the taste. This one is hops forward with a high side of medium bitterness. Piny, resiny and herbal. There is some citrusy sweetness in the finish, but it is mostly leafy, dry and the aftertaste is bitter.
The feel is smooth, medium bodied and on the high side for a pale ale, and the moderate carbonation provides a piercing tingle.
For me this one blurs the line between APA and IPA. Regardless of its classification, it's pretty good.

Pours a clear light amber color with a 3 finger frothy head, leaving the signature IPA lace around the sides in webs and thick mucus.

Smells like a damn onion bomb, with dashes of garlic. I feel I'm spicing hamburger meat here. Slight bit of metal on the nose as well.

Flavor is of citrus peel, onion, sweat sock, hop oil, resins, and garlic cloves. It's not a palate wrecker thank God, but it sure tastes confused. Nothing compliments each other.

Feel is light bodied...too light for an IPA, with mild carbonation and a sticky semi-dry finish.

Overall this beer is the worst one I've had from Lagunitas. What were they going for here? This is not typical Lagunita's quality. It's like distilling Stone's Ruination to make a light beer. It's not good, and I won't be drinking it again.

L: orange color, smal creamy head when i pour it into the glass, carbonation seems to be quite high
S: floral hops, grape fruit, orange ,pine
T:Citrus is the first that comes to my my mind,it ends with hoppy bitternes. The bitterness is very good balanced in the way that the beer not have a tatse that is to bitter
F: medium bodied , with high carbonation. Is a beer that is very easy drinkable
O:This beer is very easy to drink, and i think is a very good one. Very good balance on it. It was enjoyable to say at least

Wowzers. Complex and hoppy, but surprisingly easy to drink. Bountiful head, lots of sticky lacing, light malt aroma, hint of hops, taste brings hops out to the front, mildly bitter finish. Slick mouthfeel, slides right down.

Pale orange in color and very hazy. Poured with a thick white foam with medium low retention. Medium hop aromas of citrus orange and earthy spice. Medium malt aromas with light crackery notes. Medium bodied with medium, tangy carbonation. Medium high spicy and earth resinous hop flavors with light notes of citrus orange. Medium malt aromas with light bready notes near the end. Spicy hop bite in the middle with medium high bitterness. Finished dryly with spicy hop flavors and light, lingering bitterness. Well balanced hop and malt aromas. Flavors lean toward the hoppy side for a pale ale with pleasant, slighty aggressive but also subtle hop characters. Crisp, refreshing and easy drinking.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle

A: Pours a deep golden honey color with lots of lively bubbly carbonation. One finger of creamy foamy white head lingers for awhile and leaves behind some nice lacing.

S: Aromas of floral and pine hops, with the scent of citrus, grapefruit, orange, and lemon. Also a slight note of sweet malts.

T: Flavors of citrus greet you initially, grapefruit, orange, lemon, and a little mango. In the middle you find a slight bit of sweet malt flavor and some herbal spice. Finishes with some nice floral pine hop bitterness.

M: Medium bodied with a moderately high amount of carbonation. Crisp and slick goes down nice and easy.

O: A pleasantly easy drinking Pale Ale. A great go to when you want to kick back a few. The brew is well balanced in flavor but slightly hoppier then your standard Pale Ale. This is one of my favorite year-round's for it's style and would recommend it to anyone.

This beer pours a very clear and fizzy star with a sizeable head. The aroma is mostly of pine, with a hint of citrus, classic west coast aroma. The flavor leads with dry grapefruit, followed by a healthy dose of pine. The mouthfeel begins thin and evens out into a slightly unctuous texture. Overall this is a veyr pleasing, slightly dank America pale. Should sell better than it does.

I'm usually not a fan of the APA, but I like this one. Poured from a bottle - beautiful and complex off-white foam. For the taste - the malt foundation is sweet with a touch of caramel and a hint of cider. A bright floral hop kicks in with a smooth finish.

Wonderful malt backbone balanced with refreshing hops. Notes of green apple, biscuits, and citrus. Lagunitas finally strikes a good balance with malts and hops, making this one of my favorite Lagunitas brews.

L: Pours brilliant gold with a 2” white to cream colored foam cap that dissipates over 4 minutes to a thick, lacy film. S: Big malty grainy aromas rise from the glass with some light caramel, floral and spice. T: A rich attack with malt, fruit, biscuit, faint nuts, and assertive bitterness. The palate has some citrus and also some herbal notes. Over all the flavors are well rounded. F: Very creamy, medium body and a very soft palate. O: A nice drinking, full flavored, refreshing beer.

L- Mustard-gold color and a rich creamy head
S- Crisp hops aroma. Herbal and spicy.
T- Flowery hops upfront, ends less bitter and refreshing with a note of pine.
F- Medium body, slightly sticky.
O- Hoppier than your regular APA, stands mere steps away from an IPA. Very good.
