The beer pours out an extremely clear light golden. Almost looks like a The head is really huge on this one and very slowly dissipates.

The aroma has big fresh orange, lemon, citrus hoppiness, tons of floral notes.. A clean aroma of Lagunitas yeast.

Flavor wise. Upfront, you just get grapefruit and lemon and floral.

It has this cracker malt at the middle that is enjoyable and sweet. Then the grapefruit lingers for quite a while. Aftertaste has this weird graininess.

Despite this, the body is really light at 6.2% ABV. One could very easily slug these down quickly.

A decent pale ale. Would like more hoppiness and less grainy flavors.

A- Golden and clear with an almost soapy light head

S- Light hoppy floral sent with a little more than a hint of pungent citrus.

T- Sweet but dank and floral hop power up front. A bit piney. Also peppery and spicy. Hops hitting again later with enough malt flavor to balance it out nicely.

M- Nice carbonation, nice clean finish. Smooth and crisp.

O- This is a real nice hoppy pale ale. easy to drink and has a respectable drinkability. Tons of floral piney aftertaste that I enjoy. Makes me want another one. Maybe I will...

Reviewed based on tasting notes from a blind pale ale tasting.

12 oz. bottle inside a paper bag poured into a plastic tasting cup.

A- clear amber.

S- Similar to taste.

T- Sugary sweet, juicy malts and citrus, floral, fruity hops. A distinctive sweetness like drinking your cotton candy at the carnival. The sweetness comes on a little strong for my liking, but is not without some balance from the bitterness of the hops.

M- Semi-bitter finish.

O- I had another one of these beers later that night, and it definitely grew on me. Definitely a pale ale I would gladly recommend and drink again. Long live Lagunitas!

Bottled in November 2013.

Appearance: Clear pale golden with rising effervescence and some little bits that could be yeast or hop matter. Thin white cap of froth.

Aroma: Bready malt and fruity pebble hops. Not super aromatic but that could be due to the cold temperature.

Taste: Starts off a watery with some moderate hop bitterness and earth character. The malt and hops mix to create a peppery biscuit flavor. 6.2% ABV seems a little high for the lack of malt flavor here. Finish is quite lively and the aftertaste leaves a lot of peppery/earthy bitterness on the palate.

Mouthfeel: Between thin and medium in body with average carbonation. Good drinkability and sessionable, although it's on the high end of that spectrum.

Final Thoughts: A decent APA but not something I'd seek out. A little average where that category is concerned but supplies enough hop bitterness to keep things interesting. Would I drink it again? Sure, on-tap.
