A: Pours a clear golden color with a good head that fades to some lacing.

S: Aroma of pine, with a bit of fresh grain in the background, nice and clean.

T: Taste of pine/citrus upfront with a bit of honey sweetness and hint of fruit. Good bitterness and a clean finish with just a bit lingering.

F: Fairly medium body, Crisp, smooth and refreshing. One of those beers that hit the spot.

D: Great drinker that goes down easy. A beer with a unique character that lets it stand tall in a sea of IPAs.

Live Review. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle that I purchased for $1.74 at Heinen's in the Cleveland area into my Cooperstown Beverage Trail pint glass.

A Light brown orange body under a one inch frothy white head. Nice look. 3.5

S Sugar sweet hops smells. Interesting, inviting. Hops are grapefruit tart, brown sugar sweetness that I recall from other Lagunitas beers. This is the smell of a big beer. 4.0

T Apparently my nose is becoming more and more accurate. The taste is of a big beer with sweet malt and grapefruit hops which is adequately balanced. 4.0

M Again, a big beer with sweet sugary and bitter hops tastes. 4.0

D Fair to good. This is a delicious beer that hides its ABV very well. 4.0

Notes: It reminds me of other Lagunitas beers, Brown Shugga and even Hairy Eyeball share some traits with this beer.

Deep golden color, 100% clear. Moderate carbonation throughout, the head is thin but holds well. Pungent orange hoppiness in the aroma, smells much like Hop Stoopid, perhaps the same hop extract? It's very nice, wouldn't know this is a wheat beer though, all I get is citrus hops.

The citrus hops continue on in the taste, but there is a bit of bready malt in there trying to pair it. The hops win out, and the bitterness is long lasting at the finish. Even with the intense hops, the flavor has a clean, refreshingness to it, staying drinkable despite being relatively one dimensional. The mouthfeel seems light, but it's definitely not thin. Carbonation is solid, not too sharp, and the beer finishes without being syrupy.

I had no idea what this beer was when I bought it, but I am glad that Stout @ Plaza Liquors recommended it. Listed as a Pale Wheat Ale I expected something completely different. This is more like an IPA really, like a slightly smaller version of Hop Stoopid in my opinion. Crisp with a blast of citrus hops, for me that is very drinkable, because I like less malty balance in my IPA's. Highly recommended, I will be buying more...

A: Beer pours a very clear golden wheat color with a two finger head. Good carb and nice lacing.
S: Loads of citrus, grapefruit and tropical fruit. Beautiful. Smells just like an IPA.
T: Citrus and pine hop characteristics. Bold but not overpowering. The malt blends in so perfectly, definitely tasting the wheat in there.
MF: In this beer beer you get all the hoppyness of a West Coast IPA with the full body of a wheat beer. Super drinkable for 7.5%. The more I drink, the more I want.
O: This is the best hoppy wheat beer out there, better than 80-Acre and Gumballhead in my opinion. I could throw back 3 or 4 of these pretty quickly ad get myself in trouble with the 7.5%. What a brew!
