A-murky brown with a thin tan head

S-caramel and grassy hops. some peppercorn, decent strength

T-comes in with a good and bitter taste of grassy caramel. its a good smooth beer with a really good lasting bitterness and a matching after-taste.

M-smooth creamy carbonation with a creamy finish

O-once again, Lagunitas makes an affordable and great beer with a good hoppy twist to it. this is a great beer. i wish i didn't i have to share the bottle! definitely a unique brown ale, and not something i'd mind having again some time.

Poured from bomber bottle into a snifter style glass.

Brown light hue with impressive head. Lacing sticks to glass, solid retention. Like a lighter color brown ale with a huge off white colored top head.

Smells a lot like an ipa with big citrus and pine balanced by a bit more sweetness with a bit of nuttiness and slight roast.

Taste has bitterness beholden to an American IPA upfront. sweet and some fruit overtones. Everything balances very well with enough IBUs for IPA palettes. I was hoping the taste would be as powerful as the aroma. This beer drinks much more easily than it's nearly 8% ABV. Maybe that's what they were going for.

Mouthfeel is medium, smooth very soft, clean finish. Impressive.

Reminds me of kind of a black ipa but with less roast and more sweetness. It balances the hop profile more though instead of fighting the roastiness. It's not an official style but I really enjoy it. Laguinitas can easily charge $10 for this bomber. If you're a hop head you'll love it, albeit a different approach. Challenged to find more complexity in the flavor though.

A: Dark brown color, looks a lot like bourbon. It has a thin strip of eggshell-white head and leaves some mild lacing. It appears very transparent and has great color.

S: Interesting scent. It has a nutty scent, kind of like roasted peanuts. A bit catty.

T: Flavor is very earthy and catty, with some round bitterness that isn't harsh. It's an interesting tasting beer for sure.

M: Mouthfeel is good, with just the right bitterness and carbonation. It blends together with near perfection.

O: Overall the beer had a very unique presence, and I won't fault it for what it is. On a personal note, I wasn't too fond of it and wouldn't buy it again.
