12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of bubbly foam. It left sudsy rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of resin, orange, grapefruit, pineapple and toasted malt. Sweet tropical fruit taste with piney bitterness and toasted caramel.

Look...the usual Wc IPa look. A little haze but very little. Yellowish with a hint of gold
Smell...Dank citrus earth smell. So hop prevalent as it really excels. This one has lessened from the ones i had 6 weeks ago but still next level.
Taste...Sweet fresh lemon grass tangerine bitter balanced dry finish that requires quick sips.. A fresh hop enjoyment
Feel...A thin feel backed up by a medium carbonation that gives a light but full bodied taste. It provides a texture that procures a definitive taste.
Overall...The comparisons to Born Yesterday are inevitable with that said, This beer is very good and glad to have and have had quite a few. These high end Lagunitas beers really kick it up. excellent

A: crystal clear; medium gold in color; 1+ finger white head that receded to a wispy cap with a thick collar; nice lacing;

S: Simcoe comes through the strongest with dank pine,, but Mosaic and Citra are noticeable as well; coming through as pineapple and grapefruit respectively;

T: mostly a mish mash of all 4 hops, but at times, each hop pops forward for a moment; moderate bitterness on the finish;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: very enjoyable;

Look: Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a one finger, eggshell white head of foam. Minimal lacing, moderate head retention.

Aroma: Sticky and tropical. Lots of overripe guava and mango with quite a resinous backdrop of pine sap. Fairly generic but very pungent.

Taste: A lot more balanced than I was expecting. Tropical fruit still takes center stage. Upfront, flavors of clementine, mango and papaya. Slightly funky and musky notes of wet grass ( in a pleasant way ) midpalate - followed by strong notes of hop resin, along the lines of sautéed onions and garlic. Ends on dry notes of grapefruit peel and notes of lemon rind.

Feel: Lighter than the aroma would suggest. Mouthfeel is on the thinner side of the spectrum, but I wouldn't call it watery or anemic. Body is light for the style - low carbonation. Bitter / dry.

Overall: Decent american IPA.

worthy offering from a place that makes a lot of good beer. Well done Lagunitas!! And I love the fresh hop!
L: from the bottle and it's classy.
S: grassy, citrusy, bit of pine. very inviting.
T: delivers on the nose. maybe a bit of peach in there. finish is satisfyingly bitter.
F: smooth. light carbonation. resiny stickiness on the finish.
O: Hey, it works for me. I hope they come back with this in later years! I'll be waiting...

12oz bottled poured into teku glass. Picked up from liquor store for $2.49. No discernable date on bottle, just a weird code on the neck.

Appearance - Hazy amber body. Big white offwhite head somewhere between pancake batter and sudsy. 4.25

Smell - Clean grassy hop. A little faint and muted.

Taste - Clean grassy hop.

Mouthfeel - Full bodied. Mild astringency.

Overall - Sessionable.

12/19/21 West Coast IPA. Clear. Weak head & smell. Almost undetectable pine. Not bursting with flavor. Enjoyable but nothing special.

Appearance: Pours a clear, medium golden color with a strong and soft white head. SRM of 7 (3.75)

Aroma: Strong and juicy aromas here of pineapple upfront. This is followed by tropical notes of melon and peach. Some grass. Some Lagunitas yeast finishes through.

Flavor: Strong flavors of pineapple, lemon citrus, grass. This follows into a peachy yeast flavor characteristic of Lagunitas with their classic sweet candied finish. Finish is sweet.

Feel: Larger bodied. Moderate carbonation. Finish is thick and relatively sweet. (3.75)

Compared to Sierra Nevada Celebration Fresh Hop IPA 12/12/21: Pours a lighter color. Stronger aromas. More pineapple, peach, lemon citrus. More juice. Less pine, pine needles, caramel, and spices. Larger and sweeter.

Overall: This Fresh Hop IPA is much different that the Sierra Nevada Celebration IPA.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is straw gold, transparent, head is brighter white with fine bubbles, head presents 1 inch thick then dissipates to a solid top that lingers for well over an hour (let this one sit until i could taste it), with lacing on the glass sides.

Smell is floral and citrus, some tropical notes, solid base malt, light cracker.

Taste is floral and citrus, grapefruit pith, light herbal tea like note, lighter tropical hop notes, clean base malt, light biscuit and cracker.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness, lingering bite on the tongue.

Overall a really solid IPA with classic west coast stylings and a bright floral hop aroma and taste.

Pours clear and golden. Just an incredible aroma both flora and some tropical fruit/pineapple. But the typical Lagunitas yeast flavor. Sweet initially with a dry finish.

The hop profile suggested some fruitiness but also a solid dose of bitterness and pine. Though pretty tasty, this one lean heavily into the NEIPA taste profile. Much more juicy than I expected so I'm a little disappointed. Nice to drink but I won't seek it out again.

Pours a clear golden amber with a nice tall off white head that leaves some serious lace.

Tangerine, nectarine, grapefruit, star fruit with a touch of toffee malt in the background.

Taste is quite lovely. Follows the nose with an explosion of wonderous fruit with some bitter rind pulling it down into a slight toffee malt background and a dry finish.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip.

Pours golden with a mild haze but still has solid clarity with bubbles racing upwards; fluffy white head that falls leaving great bubbly retention and sticky lacing.

The aromas have a nice blend of citrus and tropical fruits. Some crackers. Malts are there. The aromas start off very strong, but quickly fade.

The flavors basically follow the nose. More citrus and tropical fruits. Some lemon and grapefruit leading the way. Some pineapple coming through as well. Lots of fresh grass. Some pine sap. Some black pepper in the mix. Some caramel. Subtle sweetness. Solid bitterness. Really nice hop flavors. Malts do their thing. Finishes juicy and dry at the same time. Alcohol is well hidden.

Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's sharp, fluffy and smooth.

This is a nice IPA. It's classic Lagunitas for the most part. Classic west coast IPA. Nice hop flavors. It's pretty enjoyable stuff. Well done.

Finally hit the TN market 7-8 weeks after bottling (which kind of defeats the purpose), and I remain dumbstruck at the discontinuation of Born Yesterday, but I was still excited to try this beer. Nice burst of floral and fruity hops when the bottle cap came off, and the look is pure, beautiful BY gold with a chill haze, so I allowed myself to get excited. Then reality hit — just not on par with BY. I’m sure some of that has to do with the age on the 4-pack I bought. But this is clearly not the same product as the hops involved don’t provide nearly the same breadth and depth of citrusy, fruity, piney, weedy glory that made BY one of my all-time favorites. To be fair, this is still a pretty excellent fresh-hopped beer and if it wasn’t having to live in BY’s shadow my appreciation for it might be higher. But the aroma is just a little flat and the flavor profile is muddled and strikingly dry (would have really liked to try a fresh glass to see how different the taste profile was intended to be), so it (the beer I’m drinking) just doesn’t present as a top wet-hopped offering.

October 2021 OneHitter Release - 4 pack
12 oz. bottle dated 278 1 (10/05/21) - 7.7% ABV / 50 IBU
Brewed and bottled in Petaluma, CA
Poured into a Bell's branded nonic pint glass

Look - Pours a fluffy white head that settles down pretty quickly. Slightly cloudy, golden yellow appearance with a fair amount of carbonation.
Smell - Picking up a lot of tropical fruit and citrus in the scent. Pineapple, coconut, mango, guava, and also some earthy wood pine undertones.
Taste - The taste is mostly sweet citrus and peach. The flavors all fade pretty quickly and are hard to discern. Bitterness and alcohol taste are both minimal.
Feel - Medium bodied with a juicy and wet mouthfeel. Minimal dryness. This brew really warms you up, surprisingly, with the ABV not being super high.
Overall - Not bursting with flavor as one might suspect, but the flavors are good, and this is easy to drink.

I was beyond excited to try this one and finally got my hands on it.

12oz bottle poured into a wide-mouth tulip.

Looks - golden. Pretty honey-like. Hazy, but not as cloudy as a proper hazy IPA. Has a small off-white head, but still leaves good lacing on the glass. Bubbles are tightly clustered in the head.

Smells - Interesting. Almost identical to their Hoppy Refresher. Very citrusy with tropical fruits like pineapple come to mind. A hint of grassy hops and earthy pine, but mostly dominated by a lemon-lime and delicate pineapple note.

Taste - Citrus-forward. This brew is juicy through and through. Citrus forward tastes limey with a hint of tangelo, again akin to the Hoppy Refresher. Semi-sweet malt in the middle with pineapple before leading into a finish of spicy pepper and a semi-dry finish.

Feel - very smooth. Silky and medium-bodied. Not too effervescent, but still enough tingle to add texture to your tongue which enhances the flavor experience. Goes down easily. Doesn't feel heavy in the stomach. Flavors and feel linger on the tongue just long enough before dissipating.

Overall, I love this brew. One of my favorites in the OneHitter series. It feels fresh as the name describes. It's very refreshing. It's super easy drinking, masking alcohol perfectly. Like I said, I found a lot of commonalities with the flavors in the Hoppy Refresher, and that is a good thing. I only wish it would stay a bit longer, or at least they gave us packs bigger than just 4! You'll be left wanting more for sure.
