Poured from a bottle into a Dogfish Head Signature Glass. Bottle is dated July 9th, 2013.

Appearance: An average pour produced 1/2'' of white head with regularly sized rocky bubbles. The beer was amber and clear.

Smell: Brett predominates the smell. Additionally, pine bitterness is found. Coming in behind these is sweet mango and orange citrus.

Taste: Taste is tart brett, earth, a bit of orange, lots of pine, and a subtle aftertaste of sweet bready malts. Alcohol is present.

Mouthfeel: Body is light-medium, texture is thin, carbonation is soft to average, and the finish is bitter and dry, with a nice warming sensation.

Overall: Glad I was able to try this one. I probably like the regular Sumpin' a little better, but this was a cool take on the beer.

Clear light amber color with orange hues. Fluffy 2-finger white head with medium+ retention. Cratered lacing in the glass.

There is a medicinal quality in the nose like vicks vaporub. Pine sap, resin, lemon zest, orange zest and mint.

Resin, citrus zest, pine sap, mango, overripe pineapple, mint. Very hop dominate on the palate. The finish is all tacky bitterness.

Medium+ bodied, alcohol is well balanced into the body of the beer. The bitterness pushes the finish.

I can appreciate a strong hop focus, but sometimes it just gets to be too much. I think that is the case here. The hop characteristics are so aggressive against the rest of the beer, that it just pushes everything out of balance.

Enjoyed at the dive bar.

A - Poured into a tulip a clear golden hue with a nice two finger head that leaves sticky lacing and thick blanket.

S - Aromas of light funk, Belgian yeast notes, not getting much hops unfortunately. Hmm

T - Taste is very lightly Belgian, slightly sweet, actually lightly funky, faint horse blanket and barnyard, light green apple, but at the end of the day, not much hops.

M - Mouthfeel is pretty drinkable, nice carbonation, light.

O - Overall not as ipa like as I'm used to with even a Belgian ipa, still, not bad.
