Poured from a 12oz bottle. Amber color, minimal head, no lacing. Wafts in a very attractive wall of alcohol and hops. Taste is a blast to face wall of high ABV IPA/DIPA beer, very balanced and tasty. Mouth feel is somewhat thick. Hiccup inducing beer, so delicious.

This is a huge beer. Pours clear golden color with a finger of white head that persists and leaves some lace. Nice tropical fruit, pine and cannabis in the nose. Taste follows with just a little bit of alcohol in the taste. For such a big beer, it has a really nice mouth feel...not heavy or malty like you'd expect. Overall, a seriously delicious and a Rabble worthy beer.

Absolutely amazing beer. This beer lived up to the hype. One of the best Double IPAs I have eveer had. I'm sure the nearly 12% alcohol helps. Lagunitas knows how to use hops in the brewing process, and they do it very well.

Caught my eye in the middle of the isle at my grocery store. The table that has reduced price items. Reading the 6pk carton, had Some trippy prose. Plus naming it "A one-hitter series".
Sweetish, heavy mouth feel, bueno nose. Ample alcohol, will creep slowly. Good stuff here.
Goin back to market to see if the las 2 6pks are still there.

Clear medium amber pour over gold (copper with a bit of garnet). World class head volume, lacing and uber world class retention.

The nose is world class. It is a blend of citrus and tropical fruit over a sweetly balanced base with a touch of "spice" from the alcohol. Orange and pineapple/mango are the most prominent. There is a dank undercurrent along with spruce.

Medium bodied with a texture that is oily and slick from an abundance of hops. Even long after the finish, hop oil still coats the tongue. The carbonation / body balance is quite outstanding. The effervescence is expertly subdued to retain the texture. The middle is slightly prickly while the finish tickles the tongue. In sum, world class mouthfeel.

The flavor profile is quite outstanding and nudges the world class line but can't quite break it. Near the end, alcohol becomes uncovered and lingers in the finish. Other than that, this high octane ale has all cylinders firing to the max. Everything in the nose is present in ample intensity and complexity - AND perfectly balanced. The malt base is sweeter than the nose suggested - delivering rich pale/honey malt and caramel. Another world class attribute is the hops - not just flavor but a SMOOTH aggressive bitterness that contrasts the malts.

Pours honey-colored with a smallish head that slowly dissipates to a creamy layer and leaves good lace. Nose is sweet, resinous, dank, but also has plenty of citrus. It has the kind of nose that tells you this is a very high ABV IPA...if you weren't already aware. Taste is chewy-sweet pine and citrus. The hops, malt, and booze are all amped up and counterbalance each other so that it doesn't get too lopsided in any direction. Some may wish for a dryer more hop-leaning version, but I thought this was a better way to go with this "big boy" beer. A sipper that you end up gulping at times. Great (maybe dangerous) beer.

This is the best beer I have ever experienced. Definitely "herbaceous"!!! In fact, it smells like a certain "herb" ;) !!! On one hand, I wish it was available year-round. On the other, maybe the limited release makes me appreciate it that much more. I can't think of one single flaw with this masterpiece. Can't wait for it to come back again!

A - citrus fruit and pine
A - light yellow with medium head that disappears quickly.
P - smooth and slippery. Carbonation is light with small, velvety bubbles.
T - huge upfront profile of pine and Frazier fir. This is greeted by a refreshing pop of citrus fruits (orange, pineapple and Mango.
O - is had this bottle sitting in the fridge for over a year now. The first few of these I honestly didn't enjoy. This one has aged incredibly and the citrus had really matured.

Lagunitas tasting with DC.

Bottle to snifter.

LOOK: clear orangeish-yellow, color of honey. Minimal head
AROMA: honey, pine, very woody and floral, smells mellow.
TASTE: bite of pine mixed with a sweetness, honey or molasses. The resin /pine does start to accumulate, but I am sipping a water with this since we are trying many different beers, and that helps to keep it fresh.

FEEL: dry, Medium body. The resin drys out the palate and makes the beer "drag".

Still not my kind of beer, but well crafted. I can appreciate this not tasting like it smells. Changes as it goes...for me it wears on me, but I think "dank" people would say it gets better as it goes.

This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a glossy burnt orange color. Thin white little head that quickly dissipated. Moderate amount of lacing slides around the glass after the head dissipated nicely. The smell had the sweet danky onion covering bursting citrus/grapefruit pulp, honeysuckle, honey, and a sly bitter grass. All combining in an exceptional way. The taste was moderately sweet with that underlying bitterness bouncing in to a semi-dry sweet honey/grassy aftertaste. On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body with a nice sipping quality about it. Carbonation runs fairly under allowing a light dry stickiness hitting my tongue. Overall, to me, it’s an awesome DIPA with hidden booze and a slight danker/sweeter awesomeness to it. Definitely would have again.
