Sampled on August 9, 2012.

The pour is orange-amber, slightly cloudy, with a huge, puffy off-white head that ultimately settles down but keeps bubbling.

A wide array of scents dance on the nose including wheat, pale malts, brown sugar, yeast, pear, and a slight spicy character akin to Allspice or coriander. Im a blind taste test I might think it smelled like an Abbey Dubbel.

The body falls into the medium range but there is a pleasingly smooth creaminess to it.

The taste begins with many of the same pale malt, yeast, wheat, and spicy characters as the nose with a zing of bitterness and a tocuh of alcohol playing up the tail end.

This is a beer I will remember in a positive way.

22oz bottle into Duvel tulip.

Appearance: Free pour yields a 1/3inch white head that dissipates quickly. Pours a hazy orange and leaves no lacing.

Smell: Mild banana bread, some solvent-like alcohol, sugary aromas, lots of yeast influence, some suggestions of citrus (orange, or chewy orange candy). Too restrained, but all the different notes work great together.

Taste: Potent yeasty and phenolic flavor up front, moving to high apparent bitterness (too high) and a crushingly hot (but sugary) finish. Bit of banana bread in the aftertaste.

Wow, what a miss. None of the complexity of the nose. Some good stuff happens at the beginning of a sip, then it just gets bitter and boozy. I like this less every time I take a drink of it. If I actually finished the bottle (just had 1 full glass), it would probably receive a few 1s by the end.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Sugary, almost chalky. Very hot. Mild carbonation. Not that bad, not that great.

Overall: One of the worst Lagunitas beers I've had, and easily the worst weizenbock I've ever had. Poorly made in so many respects, with the final result being too bitter, wayyy too boozy, and not very good otherwise.

They shouldn't have bothered releasing this.

Found this one just speaking to me (it was on sale for around 4 bucks...) so I figured time to try one of these

Appearance - A very nice color of a murky orange/brown. Nothing spectacular but definately a beauty

Smell - I was hoping for some more on this, but it seemed to have such a light smell that it was hard to make out. Mainly hops and a earthy overtone

Taste - At first taste I wasnt sure about this one, but after a few sips I found myself appreciating the strong and simple flavors. Mild at the first second but the left hook comes in with hops

Moutfeel - There is scant carbonation here but with its hoppy flavor it doesn't need much. Good for the style

Overall - This would be a nice daily drinker for a pint. Well priced way below its value. I could wish for more, but for the price I wont.

A - Pours a hazy orange/brown with maybe one finger of head. Head has decent retention and leaves a small amount of lacing.

S - Smells a bit like sweet banana bread with a bit of alcohol thrown in. Also a faint bit of spice. Pretty nice, but a bit of a heavy aroma.

T - Sweet bread malt with a lot of banana ad a bit of spice. A bit sweeter than I would like. It does begin to dry out with more spice, mostly pepper and clove, near the finish, but still quite sweet.

M - Slightly slick, medium mouthfeel. Some earthy dry bitterness on the finish.

O - Pretty good, but a bit too heavy and sweet. There are others in the style that I like quite a bit better, but this certainly isn't a bad beer.

A: Two finger head on a hazy crimson body. Some lacing.

S: wheat, breads, clove and banana fruit.

T: follows the nose nicely with more wheat, banana and clove with the addition of spiciness and booze

M: Medium body and moderate carbonation. Somewhat creamy.

Overall: not very memorable but a nice beer to try. The booze is stronger than I want in the flavor.

A: This poured a slightly cloudy gold with moderate white head.
S: It smelled like banana nut bread, and that's about it.
T: It tasted like banana nut bread too. Surprisingly light on the Belgian hops. Nice mostly sweet aftertaste, with a bit of bitterness for balance.
M: It was somewhat thick with moderate carbonation. Decent body.
D: There was nothing wrong with this beer, but nothing special about it either. Good scent and taste and body, with a very smooth finish and well hidden alcohol. So it was quite easy to drink, but not as easy to remember. Good to try at least once.
