A: Very light yellow in color with a clear body, a medium amount od bright white head on top with a few frog eyes.

S: Tons of hops, with citrus and tons of pine resin in the aroma as well as maybe a touch of onion or garlic from simcoe?

T: Just a load of hops.. citrus and pine paired with dank and resinous! All the flavor is up front, with a lingering orange flavor in the finish. Surprisingly not too bitter considering the amount of hop flavor.

M: Very light in body, and the carbonation is medium high. Very clean and refreshing feel with a dry finish, and a touch of hop linger.

O: Overall, a damn fine beer. Great flavor and super refreshing.

12 ounce bottle poured into Game of Thrones pint glass.

Pours a clear golden yellow with half a finger of loose, bubbly off-white head that leaves chunks of sudsy lace as it recedes.

Smells of citrus pith, pale malt and soft green hops.

Tastes of lemon and grapefruit pith, crackery malt and more gentle piney hops.

Feels light and refreshing. Body is medium-light with soft carbonation. Finishes off-dry.

Verdict: Recommended. Very refreshing.

Poured from a bottle into a nonic glass. Color is a pale, clear yellow. The smell is just right for me. I was surprised that it had a lot of hop flavor given the description fractional ale. A good beer with a session level ABV.

A very light blonde with a slight haze. A definite citrus aroma. A very crisp and lush taste with a clean dry finish. For a slightly hopped pale ale, this is a favorite.

12oz bottle.

A: Clear yellow. Large amount of foam and nice retention.
S: Intense lemon and lemon peel aroma. Grassy.
T: Lemon. Low to moderate bitterness. Dry.
M: Light bodied. Crispy.
O: Good session IPA, I hope I can always get this instead of the macro lagers.

(drank on 17 Nov 2015, bottled in June 2015, sitting on shelf with dust on it - poured into a shaker)

L: pale gold liquid with a moderate haze - this is how it should be and it's safe to assume what the taste has in store... head really collapsed quick - can only guess it's the age/handling

S: smell is still kickin'... dried grapefruit rind, tobacco, little bit of dried mango, maybe some white grape in the back... I should really know what particular hops these are by now - they're using some of my favorites here... little bit of toasted grain poking through, but the hops are dominant here

T: noticeably light up front, dare I say watery - the malt flavor is super subdued and clean, not much crystal presence... sharp, piney bitterness bites immediately as well... certainly a rounded, spicy zip to the hops with a grassy pop in the middle and a floral, bitter citrus rind thread in the aftertaste...

F: very thin and dry, as expected, but more so than the lot of this type... slight smoothness to its flow, mild resiny film left over

O: gotta laugh at this session IPA genre - they're all just American-grade hopped-up pale ales of adjunct lager strength... the British counterpart to these would just be called IPAs and would merely be less biting bitter (think Deuchars IPA)... good, even with age, but with Easy Jack available, why drink this?

The off-white froth quickly passes the rim of the glass and protrudes dominant and unwavering above its surroundings. Color is yellow with a boisterous bubble activity ongoing. Faint herbal hops, grass, lemon and light fruits to the nose. Has a light fruit middle with some grass and straw mixed in before finishing with a faint herbal hops. Goes down crisp with an exceptionally light body.

Not many of the qualities of an IPA or even an APA. Not that many qualities at all for that matter.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy to mostly transparent yellow color with enough carbonation to fill a one finger-ed white foamy head. Light lacing in the wake of the head.
The smell starts off with bitter citrus (wanna say slightly rind-like) with a slight sweet caramel backbone to it.
The taste was basically the same with a semi-bitter to sweet aftertaste. Light in the finish.
The mouthfeel was centered around a nice light body. Carbonation hits nicely as an AIPA. Bitterness is there nice and sharp and crisp. Dat ABV, man! Word, ya not gonna feel it 'til the sixth one!
Overall, I think this is supposed to be a session IPA, but I'm fine with it where it is. Honestly, probably only revisit in the Summer, not so much right now.

Had on tap at Lagunitas tap room in Petaluma

Balance of hops and malt tones on this easy to drink session beer. I paired this along with Night Time and both were great beers while sitting on the picnic tables and listening to some live music.
Not overly hoppy but enough to keep IPA lovers happy

-Clear light yellow, finger of white rocky head
-lemon peel, semi dank hops, kind of a cooked vegetables thing
-Good hops, like citrus peel, grapefruit, cooked buscuit, that vegetal thing again a bit
-light, crisp, effervescent

-solid but would not re visit

a very good session ale. very light malt presence, but enough hops to keep the average hop head at least mostly satisfied. easy drinking, and widely available. very good indeed.

Pours golden, hazy with a very nice white foam head. Smell is hoppy but balanced with the malts. Taste is very nice, hoppy, malty, very well balanced and bitterness is very friendly, no astringency. Very nice session IPA I would drink it regularly.

Light gold color and nearly clear. Moderate head that leaves plenty of spots for lace.

Great combination of pale malt and floral hop. Attractive and balanced, very much what I expect a good IPA to be me as a smell.

The taste is similar to the smell in that it has a solid malt base with an appropriate bittering hop flavor. The only (minor) complaint is that the hop is biting and not softer. That said, it is subtler than 90% of the IPAs out there. The taste comes down to being refreshing and easy to drink. The body is appropriate as is the carbonation. The aftertaste is bitter (as in white pepper) but not extreme. This lasts a long time but subtly.

Look- A light, golden hue. Clear and without imperfections.

Smell- I get a light hop aroma, but not much else.

Taste- Light, with a nice hop backing.

Feel- Smooth, but doesn't leave much.

Overall, a tasty beer that probably is good for day time drinking.

Poured into a pint glass from a bottle. High foamy head over pale, clear golden ale. Head settled quickly (and nearly disappeared) and released citrus tinged nutty aroma with some noticeable new world hops undertone. Even flavor with fresh aftertaste. Taste is smooth with a nice balance of tangy and and a touch of sweet with a fresh citrusy, aftertaste. The mouth feel is light and slightly flat with hint of cream. Overall this is a well balanced IPA.

12 ounce bottle purchased individually from Whole Foods, chilled to about 50 degrees and served in a Spieglau stemmed Pilsner glass. My first experience with this beer, which I thought overly bitter. Did not enjoy this one at all and would not buy again.

L: Bright straw yellow

S: Citrus rind, light pine

T: Citrus up front, more pine, then a third hop element I can't quite put my finger on, but in a pleasent's dry and hoppy I can tell you that. Grassy aftertaste. Longer and more complex than the average session IPA.

F: Higher carbonation than I expected, though it's not spritzy. I think this helps with the lighter mouthfeel that kind of haunts all low abv IPAs.

O: Probably the most satisfying session I've had. I'm still not to sure if they're my thing, but if I had to pick a session this would be it.

Best session IPA I've tried. It will of course be a bit lacking in feel and flavor, but man, the aroma is great and the flavor is as good as can be for my palate at this low an abv. Will be my go to as long as it's available.

Very impressed with this low ABV "fractional IPA." Great nose and taste. Light but flavorful. Solid thumbs up on this one. Likey better in summertime.

A pretty, yellow pour leaves a bubbly head that dissipates more slowly than one might expect. The nose carries distinct, appetizing tropical, citrus, and grassy hop notes, as well as a hint of honeyed malts.

Taste is shockingly hop-laden; of all the session pales, this one may be the best. Typical Lagunitas hop profile: tropical fruit leads, with citrus in support and a hint of grassy, herbal notes on the finish. Mouthful is fairly light, but well carbonated and refreshing, which is what the style calls for. Calling this beer a "Fractional IPA" actually makes perfect sense, for it has all the hops one expects from an IPA on the lighter body of a session pale. Excellent

Pours a mostly clear light gold, fluffy white head, rings of lace halfway down the glass. Smell: lemon-lime, grassy and dried mango notes, little crackery malt blip. Taste: lime, grassy, crackery malt back, melon and sweetened grapefruit notes. Light-plus bodied. Really well done for a session strength IPA... call it a pale ale and throw a little more body at it and it's world class.

12oz. Bottle

Pours a pretty nice, slightly cloudy dark golden yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice one-finger creamy white head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, very slight malt note. The taste is pretty hoppy for a brew this low in ABV for the style. Medium body, with a nice slightly dry/bitter finish. Overall, one of the best Session IPAs out there, that I like and would probably buy again.

Lagunitas DayTime.

Lagunitas has only ever let me down once in terms of an IPA, And since this thing is dry-hopped I expect it to be pretty grand. Night Time was a good black ale.

Look - Pours a slightly murky yellow with a finger of ever so slightly off white head that quickly turns into a cloud formation among the right side of the glass. Carbonation appears to be between light and medium. Mid way through the drink all remnants of the head have completely dispersed meaning no lacing will be left anywhere. 3.

Smell - The nose is all one big dank hop that basically smells like sniffing a bud through a plastic wrap up bag. Malts are kept very light. 4.

Taste - The dry hoppiness is very apparent and dominates the majority of the flavor. Pine resin can be detected as it warms. Lemon zest in the finish. The flavor is not complex, but this is not meant to be. Finishes very crisp and clean. No sign of the IBU's. 4.25.

Feel - The body is fuller and more well rounded than expected. Carbonation comes through in medium waves and gently sting at the tongue. Mouth is coated in juicyness and there is a bit of a creamy aspect despite the lacking head. 3.75.

Overall - This was a very clean and easy drinking IPA that has a sessionability that is second to none. While it isn't complex, at $1.39 for the single bottle I definitely think I got my monies worth. I could drink this all day without a complaint. 4.
