First taste surprised me as I was expecting something a little hoppier, but it definitely grew as I continued drinking. A good, easy drinker. I liked it a lot.

Single bottle from a six pack poured into a Lagunitas mason jar style mug. Light apple juice yellow hue with a very frothy four fingers of head, like meringue and soap suds. Breaks down to leave broad rings of thick lacing. Huge bright fruity aroma yet somehow yields a rather dry impression despite the expectation of sweetness ... Lemon-lime, grapefruit, mandarin, pineapple, guava, kiwi ... Along with an almost earthy oolong tea-like note. Wonderful. Palate mirrors this, quite dry with a very light toasted note, subtly bready. Rich dry-hopped flavor, mixed citrus as described for the nose with black tea and faint herbal licorice. Very light ethereal mouthfeel. Quite fizzy but not caustically so and leaves a lingering citrus rind and herb aftertaste. Getting some vegetal green flavors late as well but nothing too intense. Main impression is citrus fruit and herbs with a musky tropical and tea undercurrent. One of my top session IPAs when I can find it here, which is almost never. Have to grab six or 12 across the border in Montana (thanks Gene, of Vintages Sellers fame, Great Falls, MT).

12oz bottle with cryptic bottling date=unknown age.

Pours clear yellow with a white head of an inch. A mostly solid skim coat for the duration of the glass with plenty of tattered lacing.

Aromatics are pungent and leafy. Grassy with fruit skins and melon.

Light bodied with a crisp mouthfeel.

Crackery-dry on the palate with citrus fruit and a firm bitterness.

Finishes quick and dry with fruit pith and cut grass.

Very tasty and I'm sure a fresh bottle would be even better.

Poured a bright and clear, golden -yellow hue with a foamy, sustained white-head that left some thick lacing on the glass.

There is little doubt that this is dry-hopped as the piney and citrusy aroma exploded from the bottle and is maintained after the glass pour; smells like tropical fruit in a bottle.

That refreshing citrus hop carries through to the flavor with very little pine flavor influence. Each sip is more thirst quenching than the previous sip. There are hints of mango and lemon that ends in a clean, dry finish.

The body is light as expected for this style with zesty and refreshing carbonation.

This is the current style de jour and I am very pleased. It is amusing that only a few years ago it was all about "double" and "imperial" IPAs which can be very satisfying. It is also good to see these fine breweries tackling flavorful, refreshing and session style IPAs. Many have been very good to excellent, this one is excellent.
