Thanks for choosing to spend the next few minutes with this special homicidally hoppy ale. Savor the moment as the raging hop character engages the Imperial Qualities of the Malt Foundation in mortal combat on the battlefield of your palate!
This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries of Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice en route, nor as old as the 10,000 miles or so of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentoid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again. Now stop. Think again. And stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you're on.

Poured from a 19.2oz stovepipe can, September 18th 2023. For some reason this is the freshest Lagunitas I can find around North Denver.
On the pour a 3 finger, foamy white head, with so.e surprisingly decent structure formed. After a few minutes, it recedes, leaving some islands of still thick bubbles. The body is a clear, light golden amber.
The Aroma is happy up front, bit quickly blends with a mild, sweet, bready malt character. The hops are also pretty mild, but give off a floral and piney, herbal note.
Flavor is similar to the Aroma, and again, relatively mild. Upfront there is an immediate floral flavor before some medium light bitterness comes in. From there, the bready malt brings some caramel which goes with the herbal hop flavor quite well. The pine resin hop character is much less present in the flavor.
The feel is quite drinkable and pleasant, with a satisfying malty fullness. Despite that the beer really isn't very dry at all, and comes off as quite full bodied. The balance of the malt and hop character does boos the drinkability quite a lot, despite the perceived fullness, making this beer almost come off as an all day sipper despite the 6%+ ABV.
Overall this is a decent beer, that is somehow straddling the line between modern IPAs and the older WCIPA, but rather toned down. It is super approachable compared to many other IPAs, but for someone looking for a beer to really think about this could come off as boring.

It's just typical IPA but it hits all the basic notes, bitter, rich, toffee, tropical fruit hop notes, hint of saltiness
Pretty nice

Gets better as it warms, but overall very average. Noteworthy is the ratio of Gots to Wants. 3500 Got it but 250 Want it.

Pours exceptionally clear for the style with a solid 1 - 1.5 finger head. Little to no lacing. A few strands of carbonation in the glass. Looks slightly darker, but as clear as a pils or mainstream adjunct lager. Orange and some pine on the nose. light to medium body. Malt character more present than most IPAs. Easy drinking, especially cold (er). Perfect for the friend being introduced into craft brews or on a day when you don't want to think too much about what you're sipping on.

I am drinking Lagunitas IPA today using a Tulip glass. I served it at 46 degrees. The pour created an airy, foamy, two-fingered, white head with average retention. The color is straw yellow, charting around SRM 6. The somewhat slow dissipation left some lacing on the glass. The beer's clarity is crystal, with a few carbonation bubbles. This style's overall appearance is above average.
The initial aromas are grass, melon, grapefruit, herbal, and floral esters. The hops are aromatic and fragrant. Nosing the glass again, I smell bready hops, light-toasted malts, tropical fruit, and peaches. The IPA smells like a typical well-made beer of this style.
The hops are bright and balanced. The flavors are peaches, tropical fruit, lemon rind, herbal, floral esters, melons, grapefruit, a hint of oranges, a touch of pine resin, and grass. The malts are firm, bready, lightly toasted, and soft cereal grains.
The mouthfeel is astringent, finishing crisp and clean. The body is medium, as well as the carbonation.
This is one of my go-to beers to drink when there is nothing other than BMCs in the case. The fresh beer displays the balance of the different hops used. The malt backbone is firm, giving the beer harmony. An excellent example of a well-made IPA.

This is my goto IPA in Southern France. I can at least get this one West Coast Style IPA in a half liter can at the local Monoprix or on draft at several local pubs.
