Very grateful that lagunitas has finally started distributing in Indiana. Here goes:

A: Clear orange-amber; can see through the glass. Pours a fluffy, one-inch head that lingers and leaves plenty of lacing. Beer is also very well carbonated. Couldn't ask for more. 4.5/5.0

S: First smell that makes itself known is the grapefruit. Then comes the pine. There's also an underlying lemon rind that supplements the two aforementioned smells. This all gives way to a nice finish of lightly-kilned, sweet malt. A true WC IPA with a nice malt background. However, the hops aren't as robust as in other WC IPA's, which is surprising. They're rater subdued relative to, oh, Stone's IPA. Good though. 4.0/5.0

T: Hops are more robust than indicated by the nose. Attack the palate very well and have plenty of bite, which is what I prefer. Also, unlike the nose, I mostly get grapefruit (the pine and lemon are somewhat subdued); however, this is somewhat disappointing. Some malt follows, but unfortunately the beer is surprisingly watery. A little disappointing, but it's still a good, well-made beer. 4.0/5.0

M: Again, somewhat watery. It's very well-carbonated, though. 3.5/5.0

O: A good beer. However, I think I'll stick with the Lagunitas offerings that have more malt. 3.75/5.00

Poured from 22 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, there was no "best by" date that I could find.

APPEARANCE: pours a lovely copper color with 1 finger off-white head that dissipated quickly leaving a thin broken layer of bubbles, medium carbonation. There were some suspended bits floating about, very nice.

SMELL: pepper, pine and brown sugar.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet caramel then a nice piney hop blast with some pepper for good measure. The sweetness and the hops are very balanced and not too over the top.

PALATE: medium carbonation and body.

OVERALL. this is a fine IPA and reasonably priced at $4.99 for a 22 ounce bomber, this beer strikes the right balance between malt and hops, I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys the style and would not hesitate to buy this again.

This is my go to beer no matter the season. It's clean, goes down easy, and smells great. It's one of the better IPAs I have had it's really dope. I suggest it to anyone looking to step away from store bought light beer and into a really quality beer.
