Brewed by:
Revolution Brewing
Illinois, United States

Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 9.00%

Availability: Limited (brewed once)

Notes / Commercial Description:
This Imperial IPA was created with some of the most pungent, aromatic hops. Heavy use of Summit, Chinook, and Polaris creates a unique power punch of hop aroma cloaking the malt sweetness of this high ABV creeper.

Served on tap at brew pub. Pours a bright clear gold with sparse white head. Nose feature pungent hops, am I gettin summit? Tons of onion and savory notes dominating the profile with some resinous notes to follow. The taste is bitter up front with moderate malt sweetness and more notes of onion and garlic. Mouthfeel is moderate to thick with appropriate carbonation. Overall, this hop profile just isn't doing it for me. Too many savory notes.

Apparently, the last beer made at the Revolution Brewpub by Marco ?Ramus? Who is moving to North Carolina.

A - Poured a copper gold into a snifter sized glass. Medium white head with tight bubbles that drops into the glass quickly, leaving some light lacing.

S - citrus notes, maybe pink grapefruit and orange peel, followed by pine and resin.

T - orange peel and pine resin, with a small amount of malt through the middle. Finishes bitter in the back of the throat.

M - lots of oily, tingly, bitter hops here. A little buttery on the tongue.

O - A worthy effort. A very good DIPA. To bad it's one of a kind.
