Can: Filled 3-15-17...

L-Burnt orange color...relatively clear with just a hint of haziness.

S-Sticky sweet aroma of tropical fruits, hard candy, caramel, and peaches.

T-Not as much flavor as expected.....caramel is evident.....light fruitiness with peaches and apricots.....I like the taste....just not as immense flavored as expected...

F-Full bodied...leans to the sticky sweet side...not terribly boozy or hot despite the ABV.

O-Nice DIPA...has some age on it so maybe not as vibrant as it was fresher.....still a solid yet far from elite offering.

From the can that was filled 03/15/2017. Sampled on July 1, 2017.

The pour is an attractive looking copper-amber color with a tremendous cream colored head that slowly fades down.

The aroma makes me think of a Barleywine rather than a Double IPA. The barley and caramel malts greet the nose first followed swiftly by a fruity, herbal, and alcohol sensation.

Medium to full body and smooth.

Bold malt sweetness is overtaken by booze and fruit. Bitter finish.

From a 12oz can:

Appearance: Clear amber, huge head.

Smell: Mild citrus, bit of booze and sweetness.

Taste: Citrus first, then malty and boozy. Not particularly sweet, heavy body, citrus in finish.

Overall: Picked up a 6er in Wiscoland since I've liked Revolution's beers. This was a couple months old, but at 11% and highly hopped I'd expect it to hold up pretty well. It was a solid beer, maybe not quite as bitter as I thought it would be. It's pretty difficult for the hops to take over on a 11% beer.

A - Clear, orange body, white head that fades to sticky pile around the edges, lots of fine lacing to coat the sides.

S - Candied hop notes, lemon and dank pine, with a huge malt core over which these fruit notes sail.

T - Reminds me some of 120 Minute, but much cleaner and fully integrated. The open is pine and resin, with some fruit highlights. This quickly moves into the honey notes, a definite eucalyptus note, and a close that is pungent and bitter, with just a hint of booziness.

M - If anything, this is the most remarkable aspect of this beer. This could have been super warm, or it could have dried out or left a huge resin crunch on the tongue. Instead, a light warmth counterpoints the mild drying. Surprisingly drinkable.

O - I really enjoy this, even though it is completely over the top. The ABV is there but is not overpowering. The big, bitter hop hit is there, but is coupled with a strong malty core that keeps it all from getting harsh. The result is a carefully designed beer that delivers big numbers while keeping it all together.

Love brewer but this is their over-done one - 1 is enough.

A) Crystal clear dark, amber body sports a thick, lasting and sheet wall lacing head.

S) The smell is amazing and perhaps one sniff is enough. Starts with big floral hop nose, pine and tight grapefruit. Amber shellac and sun-baked paint shed, and alcohol too.

T) After dinner drink, cognac entry and the 100 IBU of bitterness burn too fast, too soon. Lots going on, more pine shellac, and shell-shocked tongue. Lots of warming alcohol and a long, bitter aftertaste that makes one long for cheese to balance the acid.

F) Burning, intense, palate wrecker. The most extremely hopped bomb?

O) Burning now, but you must try for the sensation. Too paint can for me. Too much alcohol.

Has a good amber hue. The smell has a citrus tang, more obvious after the head diminishes, also depends on the temp of the beer, more fragrant as it warms. Being canned, it is hard to determine if the head is from the can be moved a lot or a natural by-product...the foam is a little thicker and creamier than some. Has good mouth feel, definite body. For a high ABV, this has a good hop flavor, doesn't come across as a Barleywine. I've tried making some high ABV hops, this is one I am for a goal.
