Bourbon and rye barrels work together in harmony to breathe life into our Ryewine. This unforgettable ale is brewed with over 60% rye, yielding entirely unique malt- and barrel-derived complexities. Enjoy an ample body that suggests sweetness but still finishes smooth and dry. Enjoy life now, or store cold.

Pours a deep, dark amber with a nice cap of off white head. The nose offers hints of sweetness; brown sugar, toffee, caramel, a h8nt of alcohol. The flavor is similar. Sweet with a forward toffee flavor and some brown sugar and caramel notes. The barrel is present but is mostly there to balance the sweetness and alcohol. At 15% I expected a heavy alcohol presence but it's subdued. There is some heat in the finish but little to no burn. Full bodied and well carbed. This is fantastic. So enjoyable. I wish it was something I could find more often.

2023 Batch! Sweet candied caramel and toffee bits, sweet red dark fruits, brown sugar and rye spice, and a bourbon barrel nose on this one! Taste follows with a caramel and an almost cola-like, prominent bourbon barrel boozy finish. The dark fruit notes are more evident on the nose than on the palate IMO. It is also a little thin and boozy on the finish. The mouthfeel actually improves as it warms and adds a little viscosity and heaviness on the palate. Good!

Canned on 10/27/2022; consumed on 1/16/2024

Pours a stark yet almost implausible clear blood-red hue topped with a few fingers of sickly beige foam; good head retention leaves a spotty few islands of cap, slight, creamy collar, and minimal-no lacing holding to the walls of the glass.

Aroma wafts plums and burnt sugar upfront, with a soft dark chocolate backing into toasty barrel over the middle as essence of dark cherry and dates linger; bourbon persists, soaking elements of rye spice throughout.

Taste opens to plum-coated marshmallow resounding, with burnt sugar accents and a touch of ripe fig evolving as toasty barrel imbues slick touches of caramel and tobacco throughout, culminating to distant brown toast and toffee fudge toward the back end of the profile.

Mouthfeel offers a medium-full body and lower carbonation, leaving a modest slickness contrasting slight char; a clean, silky mid-palate trends creamy, showing slight stickiness before appropriately drying into the back end while a pseudo-char lingers past the swallow.

An extensively rich ale, the fruity depth teases syrupy layers in beautifully tempered contrast to weighty undercurrents of robust spirit, climaxing in a comprehensive profile both multifaceted and inviting.

It pours a murky brown with hardly any carbonation. Incredibly thick. The aroma is of sweet syrup, cinnamon and the unmistakeable notes of rye bourbon. Not too sweet but surprisingly balanced with the sweetness coming in the front and being replaced by a momentary bitterness before allowing a complex mixture of the two in the end. A slow sipper for sure, purely due to the high ABV. However it is not boozy at all, even though I'm having a fresh can (2 months old).

2021 version poured from a 12oz can into a snifter. Revolution Rye beers are some of my absolute favorite beers. This one is no exception.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a medium to dark, brownish red-orange with a two finger off-white head that quickly dissipates to sparse patches with slight lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, bourbon, light stone fruit and a little toffee. Flavor is caramel malt, bourbon, dried apples, apricots and toffee; on the sweet side. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. Ryewines are so uncommon that it's hard to remember exactly what the last experience was, but the light fruit and caramel does bring back memories of wheatwines and ryewines of the past. The rye is fairly laid back here, with little try tartness and more barreled fruit sweetness. The massive ABV is deceptively well covered and required careful, slow sipping to appreciate. The flavors are well balanced and enjoyable with a great light fruit and toffee finish. Nicely done.
