Pretty good summer ale from Recolution. I still rhink Fist City is their best followed by A Little Crazy in close second. I enjoy most of their stuff be it they are cans is a big perk. That Galaxy Hero is actually really really good too!

Look: A hazy golden-orange beer with a one finger off white head. Leaves behind tiny traces of lacing.

Aroma: Tangerine, clementine, honey and mild tree sap. A little onion.

Taste: Hoppy for a wheat ale. Upfront you get lots of bitter notes of tropical grapefruit pith and pine resin, the hop bite is profound but not overpowering. It mellows out midpalate with sweet notes of creamy orange sorbet, nectarine, mild caramel and malted cereal grains.

Feel: Medium body. Mildly carbonated. Thirst quenching. Dry.

Overall: Generally I like my wheat ales a tad more wheat forward, creamy and supple, but this was very enjoyable. As another review mentioned this is more akin to a regular American Pale Ale than a Wheat Ale, but it's certainly not a bad beer.

Revolution is a brewery that really likes to blur the lines between styles. Their take on a hopped up wheat ale is interesting and for $10 a six pack, Sun Crusher is a solid brew. I'd stay away if you were looking for a more traditional wheat ale however.

Pale orange-yellow body with fine, tiny particles swirling about, more like pinpricks than sediment, not even enough to call it hazy; otherwise it glows. Lazy loose bubbles rise to form a creamy white head but not enough to retain it; after a while it's virtually extinct, with no lace to speak of. The nose and taste both exhibit some mild tropical fruit and some cantaloupe, a bit of warm wheat like white bread, but most strongly butter, which somehow is pleasant here. The taste does add more bitterness which gives it an anchor with which to compare the other flavors. The butter flavor reminds me of beers that advertise "experimental/proprietary" hops, although this actually works. The body is creamy, medium-full, with stealthy bubbles that give it a nice kick in the texture.
Normally butter is a flaw, and while it may be a technical one here it actually works well on the whole. I might even call it the largest flavor, if not the main flavor (33% of the three main dimensions). I'm not sure if that was the intention, but this works. Unlike hoppy-takes-on-X-styles, however, I do think more could be done with a hoppy wheat beer. Happy can colors.

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 4/3/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy pale golden/yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine/citrus peel/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and creamy/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is a very nice hoppy wheat ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the balanced bitterness. Tastes more like a standard American pale ale than a wheat beer; but I expected it given the brewery. Bright/juicy hops with balanced malt flavors. A really delicious offering.
