Appearance: Clean golden amber, with a thick head of off-white suds and a wall of lace.

Aroma: Tropical fruits — pineapple, mango, orange and papaya. Yum.

Taste: Definitely captures the tropical vibe here, with little to no bitterness. A good, solid, and easily-enjoyed fruity IPA from a reliable brewery.

12oz. can into a Surly teku.

Nose is pine, tree sap, resin, brown sugar and molasses. Deep. Sugary. Beer opens tree sap, brown sugar and molasses. Hints of nutmeg, chestnut, dried tea leaves and bark. Very solid. Feel is light to medium bodied with moderate to low carbonation. Smooth and slick in the mouth and down crisp with a big hop bite at the finish.

This one grew on me. Even though the flavor profile isn't what I usually prefer, it rounded out nicely.

My old neighbor from Oswego gave me a can of this. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had tropical fruit. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with tropical fruit peel. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall this is a goooood beer.

Pours an effervescent & hazed amber. Nice lacing & average head retention

S: Grapefruit & orange, grassyness late

T: Follows the nose, dryness & catty hops up front. Orange juice, dryness & a little pomelo as this warms, a little grassyness as well. Finishes grassy with pomelo

MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation & good balance

Easy to drink, well worth a go

Pours golden orange with a fizzy finger of foam.

Pineapple, orange, mango, and grapefruit.

While very tropical in aroma, that doesn't really translate to flavor. I get much more of the spicy noble hop like bitterness with a muted tropical character.

Medium-bodied, medium carbonation, clean, refreshing.

Overall, not my favorite in the hero series as I feel in flavor the name doesn't do this justice.

Bright orange with a sticky collar of lace and lasting surface skim.
Resinous hop aroma, citrus rind and maybe a trace of mango.
Bitter and resinous taste, bittersweet orange, grapefruit rind and zest.
Light to medium bodied, dry bitter finish.
Overall it's a good IPA, though it doesn't really have much tropical character.

Clear gold-amber with a moderate, uniform white head settling to a creamy froth.

Spicy, dank aromas glide into orange and translate similarly on the palate with Spree and onion.
