Pours an effervescent mahogany with 2 fingers of caramel head. Viscious, near zero head retention& lacing

S: Bourbon, vanilla, dark fruit

T: Follows the nose, the vanilla mixes in nicely, Bourbon asserts itself up front, a little bit of leafy & woody hops as well. Bourbon richness asserts iself as it warms, woody & vanilla note push forward as well. Finishes with warming Bourbon, vanilla, dryness, leafy hpops & dark cherry

MF: Warming, chewy, subdued carbonation

Superior take on the style, thrilled for the chance to try it. Booze is noticable, but compliments the overall beer experience. Thanks to FBarber for this one!

A: No head, dark black, dark brown at edges
S: Big vanilla bean, bourbon, cacao nib fruitiness, dark chocolate, charred oak, brown sugar,
T: Big bourbon, balanced vanilla, bitter cacao, roasted malts, alcohol, charred oak, prune
M: Meidum-thick
O: Very impressive use of vanilla where it comes through very naturally, is clearly present but isn't dominating the entire flavor profile.

Can 2018: 4.14
Draft 2017: 3.98
Black with three fingers of foam that rapidly recedes, no lace left behind.
Aromas of vanilla marshmallow, oak, and chocolate, light oxidation.
Taste is nice, chocolate, vanilla, and light bourbon and oak.
Lighter side of medium bodied, slightly creamy, mild astringency.
Overall it’s good, a little thin. Could use a little more heft and texture.
Thanks to Thomas for this one!

12oz can poured into Revolution Deep Woods Series snifter.

Appearance: black body with thick cap if bubbly / whispy head that did not last long.

Smell: bourbon, barrel, chocolate, & marshmallows.

Taste: chocolate, tobacco, bourbon, oak, & marshmallows. Very balanced flavors.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with low yet adequate carbonation. Was a little bit thin. Very smooth drinking stout though.

Overall: complex, flavorful, & nuanced vanilla bean bourbon barrel oatmeal stout. Well done by Revolution.

Canned 11/26/18; drank 12/8/18 @ the Yarchives.

Black appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big dark tan head; decent lace.

Vanilla, oak, bourbon & mild milk chocolate notes in the nose.

Thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Vanilla & bourbon heat up front; oak & milk chocolate notes on the finish.

This tastes like a boozy vanilla & chocolate milkshake; very tasty. I'd have another...

It's a really good beer. Thoroughly enjoyed it, for a number of reasons. It's very reminiscent of Bourbon Cnty., albeit with subtle differences. Here goes:

A: Splendid. Pitch black with a massive, slow-to-build, chocolate head. Head lingers for a while, too. Excellent.

S: Lots of vanilla, oak, bourbon whisky, chocolate, and some coffee. Extremely sweet - if a little cloying.

T: Follows the nose. The vanilla is a little too cloying, however, but the beer is still excellent.

F: Little light - not as thick as Bourbon Cnty. Very deceptively alcoholic.

O: Great beer. Glad I got to try it.

Tasted in a snifter from draft at Consume on February 20, 2019. Barrel aged Imperial Oatmeal Stout with hand split whole vanilla beans. Flaked and malted oats lend a supremely silky body that belies the beer’s considerable strength. Pronounced vanilla flavor and aroma blends harmoniously with chocolaty caramel maltiness and American oak.
