Spirit of Revolt is brewed with specialty malts from woman-lead Weyermann Malting, with an addition of oat malt, giving it a smooth, round body. A unique dry-hop blend of Michigan grown Cascade, Cashmere, and Slovenian Styrian Fox hops add notes of citrus, pineapple, and melon features. Both Revolution’s Tap Room and Brewpub locations are donating 100% of the beer’s sales to Connections for Abused Women and their Children (CAWC) for Spirit of Revolt’s entire duration on tap.

Can sampled in a glass,
this beer was a burnt orange-amber (there was a hint of haze) and a off-white cover, good lacing,
this beer had aromas of citrus fruit hops (orange and a little grapefruit), hops had melon and faint pineapple,
nice toasted malt, faint bread and caramel,
malt sweetness with a little brown sugar sweetness,
the flavors were citrus and spice hops (a touch of herb in the background), toasted malt, a little caramel like notes, faint toasted bread,
malt and faint brown sugar sweetness,
it had a medium or more hop spice-citrus bitterness that lingered a little,
this beer had a medium mouth feel, it was creamy and had average carbonation,
I liked the combination of malt notes and hops in this IPA,
a nice drink.

Pours a dark burnt orange color. Opaque although it doesn't really look cloudy or hazy. Thin off-white head dissipates steadily leaving just a very thin ring of foam along the outside of the beer.
Aroma is quite piney with some citrus - grapefruit and orange rind, and some grassy notes. A mild aroma yet still bright.
Taste follows the nose with notes of grapefruit, pine, sap, light orange, orange rind and grapefruit notes. Bitterness builds up through the back end as the hops singe the palate. Finishes with some dry grassy notes.
A surprisingly creamy full body - I suspect the addition of the oats to the malt bill is showing there. Smooth with a bright carbonation.
Overall a classic IPA that offers a slight twist with the addition of the oats in the malt bill. Really nice beer that I'd happily grab again

A - Dark orange pour, slightly hazy at first but quickly settle to clarity. Moderate head, minimal lacing.
S - Sharp hop notes, pine and lemon.
T - Flavor is more tea-like. Sharp bitter bite in the middle, with a bit of lemon.
M - Moderate weight, light carbonation, dry finish.
O - Decent. A bit long in the tooth, I suspect, but solidly constructed.

Bright dark copper. Substantial soapy head that dissipates slowly leaving negligible lacing.
Sweet malty nose. Citrus, pine.
Strongly bitter of the top with grapefruit and piney resin-y notes following. Malty sweetness on the finish.
Thick and substantial body. Nice effervescence.
A nice strongly bitter IPA with lots of oats. I enjoyed this.

Forgot to rate from awhile ago. Fine beer here, with a great cause it supports. Had on tap. Dark brunt orange with a finger of white foam. Smell features plenty of hops that are resinous, orange, pine, grapefruit, pineapple, melon and cracker malt. Taste is drier, but still has great fruit and hops, but not as resinous, and the malt is strong here. Feel is hoppy, refreshing and dank. Cheers to the ladies!

12oz can, FILLED 01-29-2019. Thanks to my friend, Ken, for giving me a couple of cans to try. Beautiful caramel colored ale, crystal clear with no haze, and capped with a tall & frothy beige head. Citrusy hop aroma with some pine, caramel malt, and yeast. Flavors are dank and juicy, zesty and piney; grapefruit, orange, bread crust, carameled grain, oats. Full body, ample carbonation, sweet malt gives way to pungent bitterness. Overall, I really enjoyed this one.
