22oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours dark brown with a small khaki head that quickly fizzes away leaving basically no lacing or retention. The aromas are full of chocolate and black coffee. Cocoa malts are there. The flavors have lots of milk chocolate notes. There's also some dark chocolate giving it a subtle bitterness. The coffee notes are alive as well. It's not an overly sweet example of the style. There's even a very subtle kiss of spice in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with active carbonation. Possibly slightly over carbonated, but it's still smooth. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Easy to drink.

This is a solid stout, but seems middle of the road. It's a nice traditional stout, but seems forgettable for the most part. It's not bad at all. Maybe I just had high expectations for whatever reason.

Enjoyed from the 22 oz bottle in a Delirium snifter, this milk stout pours a deep brownish black with a quickly dissipating light tan head that leaves light spider webbed lacing. Nose of heavily roasted malts, chocolate, and black coffee. Flavors are up front a roasted stout lovers dream come true with deeply roasted malts, bitter coffee and dark chocolate mingling into a symposium of roasted goodness with a hair of sweet to the sides and rear and a lingering roasted malt aftertaste with a moderate sweetness. Very nice for a milk stout. Good solid carbonation helps keep this chewy brew quaffable. More sweetness from chocolate and milk sugars comes through with warmth. Excellent. Will be looking for Very Mad Cow soon.

Cheers!

Poured into my Dogfish Head IPA glass.
A - Pours a very dark brown with a nice head.
S - The aroma is coffee, chocolate and malt.
T - The taste pretty much follows the aroma. Well balanced, not complex, just a straight forward milk stout.
M - The mouth feel is smooth, medium feel with low carbonation.
O - A very solid beer that I would drink again, but not special enough for me to seek out.
