A classic German-style Oktoberfest beer that goes down smooth with a pleasant, toasty malt flavor. 100% German malts create a supple and flavorful base for this traditional Oktoberfest lager. 12 oz can. Pours a clear copper pour with a medium beige head. Aroma of malt and lager yeast, along with some caramel. Caramel malt flavor with some bready character before a semi sweet finish.

Bought a can at the Beer Shop in East Longmeadow, MA. The beer pours with a clear amber appearance with a very bubbly, thick, white head. Aromas include roasted malts with caramel, vanilla, some buttery florals. Taste is generally sweet with the malt flavoring really coming forward. Generally creamy mouthfeel. Overall, not bad; its best feature was its aromas.

Pours a clear, maize color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and decent lacing. Smells of strong sweet malt, pale malt, hint of caramel malt, slight yeast, and slight hops. Fits the style of a Marzen / Oktoberfest beer. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong sweet malt, pale malt, slight caramel malt, slight yeast, hint of wheat, and slight hops. Overall, good blend, aroma, and feel, but the body is weaker than I'd hoped.

On-tap 11/6/2016 at Flynn’s in Mansfield, MA, served in a tapered pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep amber color, with a large foamy off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick but spotty lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, lager yeast, honey, fruit and some hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with strong flavors of lager yeast and a hearty but not too heavy malt character followed by some mildly sweet flavors of caramel, fruit and honey. The hops presence is decent for the style and provides a very good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, decent kick, very good representation of style, this is a very solid O-fest beer to drink for a long time.

Enjoyed right out of a chilled 12oz can, so I can't comment on the look.
Aroma and flavor are exactly what I expect, caramel, bread, and a hop reminder.
Perfect creamy mouthfeel balanced with a lingering, but dry finish.
A well crafted marzen.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a stein.

Appearance: Pours a deep amber orange with a lot of bubbles. Big three finger off white head that settles down into a thin creamy layer.

Smell: A toasty and sweet malt forward aroma with a scent of caramel and biscuit. Toasted malt with a scent of caramel, toffee, biscuit, grains, and nuts with some yeast. Hints of floral and earthy hops. Hints of sugar as well. A pretty solid aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a toasty and fairly sweet malt forward taste with notes of caramel and biscuit. Toasted barley malt with notes of caramel, toffee, biscuit, grains, and nuts along with yeast. Subtle earthy hop bitterness. A little candied sugar sweetness. A pretty good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, creamy, and very smooth.

Overall: A very good take on a Marzen. Good caramel malt sweetness.

A- Can into a chalice with a mostly clear deep amber body and a tall frothy cap rising up to three fingers high. Fairly good head retention and the end result is a wide belt and some random islands atop the brew. A few spots of lace remain on the glass.

S- A fairly strong aroma that incorporates strong malts, moderate yeast notes and some Euro hops. Malts provide a medium sweetness, toasted nuts, bread, caramel and biscuit notes while the yeast comes in with pale fruits and fresh yeast bread.

T- Whatever the aroma was missing is gained here as the full Marzen effect is on in this brew with rich malts telling most of the story. Caramel sweetness, doughy bread, toasted nuttiness, cereal and biscuits from the grains rounded out by hints of pear, butter, brown sugar, spicy hops, yeast bread, banana and sweetness.

MF- Creamy and puffy consistency to a body that is rather smooth and certainly silky. Medium level of carbonation leaves a bit to be desired. Finishes slick and somewhat bitter.

A warming and malty brew for the Fall season. Not quite up there with the classics but I am glad I got a 6 pack of this on a whim. Expect malts and sweetness but also a good example of an American brewed Marzen.
