Originally brewed as the 100th beer at our brewpub, this strong pale ale packs a serious punch with massive hop flavor. Intense dry-hopping brings a deep, resinous, citrus blast reminiscent of cutting into a fresh bag of hop pellets.

Getting woody and citrus aromas. Tastes dry And not so malty. Definitely a hop forward beer. Very good beer.

Has a neat fresh rolled copper sheen to the pour. Off-white dense head.

Subtle nuances of flora and fruit medley. Hoppy and lite pine tar. Nothing really screaming out-I'm here!

Deep rustic dry hop and pine resins. Just enough malt sweetness to support as such. Leans more bitter than sweet.

Creamy, smooth, clean and cuuurushable!

Great hop lineup of Centennial, Chinook, Cascade and Amarillo. Getting nice little whack off of one bottle. When can we expect this in 4/6 pack can/bottle format? Really!! This is one freak'in great concoction!

Poured into snifter. Deep gold with bone white head with decent retention and tons of lacing. The nose is delightful. Aromatic floral hops with loads of mango and citrus with evidence of some malty sweetness and a decent touch of bitterness. Taste is hop forward with plenty of bittering hops up front. Mellows out to some nice citric notes. Great balance. Mouthfeel is relatively light for the style with medium to high carbonation. Overall, this is a great Dipa... Refreshingly hoppy with great balance and minimal boozieness.

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Deep amber red body, and very clear if dark and hints of reddish bronze throughout the body. Very slow and plentiful rising carbonation capped with only a two finger head, off tan in color and a bit of a frothy appearance.

Aroma hints hop forward towards a zesty orange tangerine sort of citrus at first, but then takes over with quite a bit of caramel and even some classic malt biscuit notes. Some moderate dank qualities a bit, but a real interesting hop angle, which is subtle but able to find with a bit of exploring. Not bad…

Palate comes real nice and easy. Real good hints of solid grapefruit juice with a controlled sweetness. Malt comes into play with just a bit of cookie and caramel but stays away syrup or thick oily coating. Mellow hop angle for an imperial but noticeable and controlled, maybe even a little bit of herbality cooking it up in there too. Really excellent body, slightly juice and a real great feel down on the aftertaste that coats perfectly if surprisingly light.

This isn't really a hop heads brew, but it's a great wonderfully balanced one with just the right amount of oomph without going overboard. Really dig it.

This a fantastic beer. My first Double Pale Ale but it's not overpowering at all. It's really well balanced. I want to try this on tap as soon as possible.

Loved it - malts perfectly complemented the intense hops. Carbonation made this eminently drinkable. Go Blackhawks!

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/15/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep orange copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pineapple, mango, orange peel, floral, grass, light pine, caramel, toast, bread, and floral/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and dark/bready malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pineapple, mango, orange peel, floral, grass, light pine, caramel, toast, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pineapple, mango, orange peel, floral, grass, light pine, caramel, toast, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial pale ale. All around great complexity and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and dark/bready malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
