Appearance: Coffee black (duh). Very thick.

Smell: Strong Jamaican coffee. Very toasty.

Taste/Mouthfeel: The second strongest coffee flavor I've ever had in a beer (outside of Goose Island Resolutions). Very little chocolate, toffee or any of that nonsense. Mouthfeel has very active crisp carbonation.

Overall: Amazing. This and Resolutions are peas in a pod.

12oz can, tulip, canned 11/30/22.

Good red brown color that appears to be unfiltered. The head is voluminous and a very nice tan.

This was from a trade and I’ve waited far too long to drink it. I get slightly acidic coffee, dried red fruit, Black Forest cake, and the nose finishes with rich, lush bitter espresso.

Black Forest cake repeats here with delicious coconut laden filling, rich chocolate, and a hint of cherry. Their finish is a lovely balancing bitter chocolate and espresso. The coffee shows up most in the finish and it’s quite rich.

The body is velvety, medium, soft with medium-low carbonation. It’s really perfectly matched.

Wow, I can only assume the age did Eugene some favors because if it’s better fresh this is one of the best beers I’ve tasted. It’s hard to say what else I would want.

Poured from a 12 oz can into the test glass
A - Dark pecan shell color, with little light getting through. A tan froth capped the offering.
During the experience, a steady ring clung to the glass
S - Dark chocolate, espresso, Roast malts, with an earthy thread.
T - Follows the aromatics, add in a bit of blackberry, and a touch of char
M - Medium in body, semi sweet the entire time, finish is pleasantly dry.
O - A very good porter, with depth and character

12 oz can poured into a tulip pint glass. This is an excellent coffee porter - roasty, lightly bitter and earthy, undertones of chocolate and sweet vanilla, smooth mouthfeel, just about perfect.

Thanks to @Whyteboar for this badly needed brew

12oz can, canned 11/22

Poured at fridge temp into a nonic glass

Pours a thick and deep dark brown with a dense and persistent head

Fresh roast, sweetness and soft rich aroma

Smooth, decadent and balanced coffee, zero bitterness. Truly amazing taste

Very drinkable and rich lingering flavor, damn near blown away, but just shy of that

Overall completely satisfied and sad its gone.

12oz can. Can bottom is stamped 'FILLED NOV/30/2022'.
Deep brown colored head, with a red mahogany back lit edge. Two finger of tan head, which becomes an island and ring. No lacing.
Aroma of dark chocolate and coffee, with a touch of vanilla. Strong roasted malt base.
Taste is initially a sweeter chocolate vibe and then becomes a more bitter coffee flavor. Vanilla mixes in, along with some molasses. Reverts to a sweet mix of chocolate and creamed coffee in the aftertaste.
Thinner mouth feel, but with a slick texture from middle point on out. Good carbonation.
Interesting how each sip goes from sweet chocolate to bitter coffee within a few seconds, and then ends with a coffee/chocolate/vanilla mix.

On tap at Revolution

I was unaware when I ordered this that it’s the second highest rated Robust Porter on BA, yet another style you don’t see much of. Coffee is obviously a very common adjunct, but I feel it will complement the lighter base of Porter nicely. Let’s get into it

Pours almost pitch black with 2 fingers of frothy tan head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing

Oh man, the drip coffee vibe in the nose is quite strong, and honestly a bit off-putting unfortunately. I’m picking up on aromas of drip coffee, chocolate cake, vanilla bean, dark toast, campfire smoke, toffee, and earthy hops

It’s definitely still coffee forward in taste, especially on the finish, but it has a more gentle execution. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting milk chocolate, medium roast coffee, brown sugar, dark toast, vanilla, earthy hops, caramel, and light molasses. The swallow brings notes of drip coffee, chocolate cake, dark toast, herbal hops, vanilla, caramel, and light smoke

A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes a tad sticky but the roast of the coffee dries it out

Overpowering aroma aside, this is rather good. Not my favorite but still enjoyable

Blackish brown pour with a brown head. Coffee obviously leads the nose with semi-sweet chocolate, toast, light smoke, and fresh earth accenting. Amazing coffee porter, take everything for the nose, enhance the potency and add toast, caramel, molasses and herbal hops. Feel is medium bodied but leaves plenty of room with coffee, roast, and hop textures, chewy, malty, creamy, and percolated without being a monster on the palate, so drinkable while having the robust base.
