A very solid beer but not a stunner. Looks gorgeous. Rather light in color, almost lager-like. I can barely get a scent though - is it a bit past its prime? The mouthfeel is light but highly carbonated - the feel of big summer guzzler. The taste is fine but somewhat muted. A light hoppy beer but in a blind taste test I might call it a pale ale.

22oz bottle from Binny's Beverage Depot (Chicago, IL). 7.99. No bottle date. Served in a Three Floyds teku.

Pours deep gold with about two fingers of pillowy pale head that shrinks to a thin layer and leaves large sheets of lace.

Smells citrusy and floral. Grapefruit, mango, peach and flowers.

The taste delivers on the nose. Mango, peach, grapefruit, rind, pine, flower petals, dried biscuit, faint caramel, pepper and grass.

Medium body, slightly oily with moderate carbonation. Only mildly bitter floral finish with the malts showing up a little more towards the end.

A solid, if not outstanding, IPA. It has some nice citrus notes but falls a bit short on both bitterness and malts for my tastes. Still, I'd drink it again and it went down smoothly enough that I had no problem finishing the bomber myself.

horny cloudy orange hey late so bring of a head

the smell is classic galaxy they bright citrus nose anytime grass

the flavors are but mine for IPA just a light bit of Brady caramel malt touch of Citrus Heights but lacking in the bitterness I would expect in the style.

the mouth feels a bit send just a touch of resume on file.

overall it's a pretty decent night PA nice feature of the tremendous galaxy house could use just a touch more to really be excellent.

Galaxy one of my fav hops, so hopefully this hits right. Canned 2/29/16 so a couple months ago.

Pours a nice creamy thick 1.5 finger head that fades slowly, nice soapy lacing, semi hazy golden honey straw color.

Nose starts with a mild toasted straw grainy malt, into hops, a little grass floral, some citrus, juicy citrus fruit with a little orange flesh, a touch of a generic citrus tropical fruit, nice but fairly light.

taste brings some more mild sweet malt, toasted grainy copper malt, a little biscuit as well, then bitter hops, some grassy floral notes, with orange rind, candied orange peel, a little citrus flesh and touch generic tropical fruit, a little musty tropical fruit, touch pine, with fair bitterness, then turns int a big spicy bitterness, quite bitter on the semi dry sticky finish, grassy spicy hops lingering, a little fruity too.

Mouth is med bod, decent carb.

Overall not bad, too malty in general, not enough of the late hop addition for the galaxy to bring the nice flavors and aromas from it, more like they just bittered with it.

650 mL poured into a Teku snifter.

Appearance - Golden yellow. Clear. Small white head. Retains well.

Smell - Nice citrus hop. Grapefruit. Orange. A little bit of grain.

Taste - Less impressive. More sweetness comes through. More grapefruit than orange hop. Grain very prominent. Medium bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Medium body. Medium carbonation. Drinks easily.

Overall - Better aroma than taste. Smells like a double but tastes like a single IPA.

12 oz can from the league of heroes mix pack canned 2/1/17. Color is copper/gold and bright. There is little head or lacing. Smell is mild tropical fruit. Taste is slightly bitter with tropical fruit and barely present earthy taste. Mouthfeel is consistent with a 7% IPA, not too thin or thick. Overall, this is a good, easy drinking IPA that showcases the galaxy hop well.

A solid IPA, with lovely complex grapefruit orange tangerine citrus taste. Very drinkable. Carbonation is right there. Bg IBU but not a palate eraser. Bottle from 20 West Side Wine and Spirits. Slightly orange colour, good retained head. Some bubblegum.

Awesome label art here, can't wait to try it. Appearance is a clear golden, identical to Anti Hero with layer of white head and decent lacing. The nose is more lemony than Anti Hero with less pine and bitterness. The malt profile comes through pretty strong with dry bread and graham cracker. The nose isn't as aromatic as its counterpart which makes it slightly less appealing. The taste is light on bitterness and heavy on fruity galaxy hops. It seems as if the hop schedule for Anti Hero just works better for the grain bill as the Galaxy just seems to lack depth in this instance. Still an enjoyable and drinkable IPA. Moderate body with appropriate carbonation. Overall, tasty, just not as good as Anti-Hero.

12 oz can poured into can glass canned on 2/29

A: big soap white head lighter amber body with excellent clarity.

S: grapefruit peel, some pineapple, a little bit of resin and malts

T: very malty with light bits of grapefruit pineapple and resiny hops

M: lighter mouthfeel a little syrupy on the finish

O: This might be a tad older but you can tell it was quite a good beer. The hops are there if this was a month old I bet they would have exploded on your tongue. As it is it is still a pretty tasty beer just a lit maltier.

Gold color with a bit of haze. Good starting head that leaves an initial rim of lace.

Grapefruit rind and raw bitter hop are the predominant smells.

Decent malt base but the rest is straight bitterness. Full bodied with a low carbonation level.

Had on tap. Pours 1/3 inch head, clear, gold in color. Taste is honey, lemon, and sharp citrus hops balanced of by crackery malt. Starts sweet with with a dry/bitter end. Very well balanced and super tasty. This is an IPA that I would come back to.

Pours a bright golden yellow with a finger of white foam.

Very citrusy in aroma with some light grassiness.

Grassy and citrusy bitter hop resins, light toasted grain sweetness.

Light-bodied, medium carbonation, crisp, balanced.

Overall, another damn solid beer from RevBrew.

Adding a review to an older rating.
12oz can dated 2-1-17 poured moderately into a stemless wine glass

It is a deep gold color. Ever so slightly foggy. Big egg shell white, thicker head with decent retention and some spotty lacing.

Smells really grassy with a little bit of tropical fruit. More green than fruity.

The flavors go the other way. More fruit forward. Passion fruit, peach, and mango. A grassy, green herbal taste on the back end with a solid bitterness. Solid malt base. A lot of grain flavor but easy drinking. The bitterness is a little too strong in the aftertaste, but this is a solid, citra like ipa.

Medium orange color with a decent white fluffy head. Some sticky lacing clinger to the glass.

Grapefruit, sweet orange, touch of caramel.

Taste follows the nose. Nice level of bitterness, sweet orange balances. Simple but works well.

Moderate carbonation moves this along nicely. Crushable.

Well done. Another "hero" from Revolution that is tasty, simple and easy drinking. Recommended.

Sample poured at the Kedzie brewery on Saturday, 6 September 2014.

Pours clear golden with a small white head. Not much carbonation. Smell is nice, grassy, a little spicy, but muted.

Taste is honey and flowers and bitter pine -- tends toward sweet.

Mouthfeel is medium and slick. Overall, this is a quite tasty beer.

Clean tasting ipa. Not a lot of bitterness. Hints of citrus and tropical fruits but balanced with the dry malt backbone. Super easy drinking, very light aroma. It's good.

22oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a transparent golden with a slight hazy; nice fluffy white head that leaves good lacing and retention. The aromas have a nice amount of sweet mango, melon, pineapple, orange peel, lemon zest. There's a touch of garlic/onion, but barely. Not much malt detected, although there are subtle hints of caramel malt. The flavors are very crisp. Lots of grapefruit, lemon, and tons of pine needles. The flavors are good, but they're one dimensional and doesn't have a whole lot of depth, in my opinion. This one is definitely on the drier side. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium-bodied and has active carbonation. The alcohol goes unnoticed and it's very refreshing. It becomes tastier the more you drink it.

This is a really nice IPA. It's right there with Anti-Hero. This is crisp and refreshing. Very fun to drink. Well done.

Bought from Binnys in Des Plaines.

The look is nice, a solid orange with a decent head and some lacing, deeper dark center in th core of the beer.

The smell is interesting, it has a taffy like malt edge mixed with more of a fruity and herbal edge, no pine or citrus rind to speak of, more of an English style hop presence that I have noticed from the galaxy hop variety, it's nice and warmer than a normal American made ipa.

The taste follows suit, it has a very earthy herbal slightly bitter edge to it with some some sweeter malt notes to it that have a little bit of alcohol sweetness to it somehow, even at the semi low abv. It has some tangerine flavor to it too after a minute, it's more of a sweet tangerine instead of a harsh citrus blast. Mouthfeel is solid, good carbonation proper body.

A nice flavor, but I prefer the American bitter hop varietal hoppy beers better for my palate, but this is very intresting and unique.

22 oz bottle was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pale yellow orange color with great clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Herbal, grassy, light citrus, and spicy hops followed by toasted, biscuity, and caramel malts.

Taste: Same hop flavor as I smelled with a biscuity, chewy, caramel malts, and medium bitterness in the rear.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, chewy, light bitterness, refreshing, medium carbonation, and light to medium bodied.

Overall: A nice IPA. Not really getting as much hop flavor as everyone else, but still enjoyable. Wouldn't mind trying out on draft next time around.

Bottle. Pours a clear, dark honey color. Frothy, uneven head. Consistent lacing. Galaxy and Zythos hops. I just had the regular Anti Hero from Revolution, so let's see what these hops do to differentiate themselves. Zesty, tsemi-tropical fruit hops. I am pretty with the aroma of Galaxy and have no experience with Zythos. The very distinct Galaxy scent is detectable but it's clearly blended with other varietals. Fruit medley and herbal hops. Some slightly sweet apricot and pineapple. Some airy, pale malt sweetness. Flavor is mixture of tropical fruit hop, grassy hop, candied malt, and some sneaky bitterness. Many fruity notes to pick out. Malt doesn't overpower the hop showcase. Medium bodied. Bitterness really roars a couple seconds after each sip. No complaints here.

A: pours amber in color with a 2 finger milky white head. Head has good retention some nice lacing.

S: lots of nice fruity hop aromas going on here. Notes of tangerine and guava. Very tropical. Mangos and pineapple follow with undertones of malt.

T: a little malt upfront and then the hops hit. Lots of bitterness on the palate. Citrus on the exhale with some grass laced in between.

M: moderate carbonation. Nice oily feel from the hops lets the bitterness stay on the palate for a good amount of time.

O: galaxy hops give lost of nice tropical fruit aromas. Good bitterness and some of the tropical flavors pull through on the exhale. Solid ipa from a solid brewery.

A deep gold color, plenty of bright white foam. It recedes and leaves a ring, with moderate lacing. The nose is dank, grassy, piney, resinous. The taste follows exactly, resinous on the swallow. Body and carbonation are medium, and it is a really smooth, creamy beer. Bitter finish. Very good, but middle of the pack in the Rev Hero series.
