A reviewer could cut and paste a review from any Yoke's and no one would be much the wiser. It's a grocery store chain that tends toward the high end, in both quality and price. This one is chiefly notable for being the first one in the Tri-Cities, opening about a year or so before the one in Kennewick.

The beer selection is better than you'd find in most other grocery stores, but is not on the level of Mid Columbia Wines & Spirits, so if in the area I'd go there instead. There's some refridgerated shelves featuring micro and import singles, and a walk-in cooler for 6-packs, half-racks and cases of micro and macro options.

I hit up both this location and the Kennewick Yoke's on a recent trip to the tri-cities, and I agree with other reviewers here that they are largely the same. That said, I also agree that this location has a little bit more selection when it comes to large-format special bottles located on endcaps by the beer section.

In general, the selection is pretty good for a grocery store, with a walk-in cooler for sixers and half-racks and a refrigerated case for singles (mostly 22s). I';m from the west side of the state, so it was good to see a few breweries represented that we don't see too often over here (Ice Harbor, Paradise Creek).

Yoke's Fresh Market is a Washington based upper-end grocery chain. After visiting and reviewing the Kennewick location, since I was in the neighborhood for a business meeting 1.31.10 I decided to see if there was a difference in the quality and quantity of the beer selection.

The stores are laid out almost exactly the same, and based on experience I ventured straight to the walk-in cooler. There were very few 22 oz. bottles present, which perplexed me a bit. However, I did see Ice Harbor IPA and the Mandarin Hefeweizen available which weren't in the Kennewick location.

Just when I was about to give up the ship, I started out the door empty-handed when, voila! I found an upright case outside the walkin with a very, very nice selection of big bottles. They had 4 or 5 from Lost Abbey, Port's Old Viscosity, Hop 15 and Shark Attack, the full range of Unibroue including Terrible, several Ommegang brews, and a wide range of Washington microbrews, Iron Horse, Yakima Craft Brewing, etc. Prices were reasonable, especially with the Oregon resident sales tax exemption, though the poor kid at the checkout line had to call for help on that.

Customer service was non-existent, you're on your own if you venture in here, however, the quality of the selection is the key here. If you are looking for a couple of nice bottles for a special occasion, I'd stop here. Vastly superior selection to the Kennewick location.
