Place is hot and smokey (even though its illegal to smoke in public places the owner still does). One of the guys that works there is very nice and helpful, the rest of the staff and owner are jerks.

Even though they have pretty bad service and its always so warm in there, I'd still go for their selection, except their prices are truly outrageous. 18.99 for four packs of belgian beers that can be bought elsewhere in town for 11.99-12.99. Their bombers are about 200% markup from other places in town.

Unless I'm looking for something that they are the only place in town to carry it, I won't spend money in there. Total rip off. Seriously, go look at the prices yourself, they are terrible.

Quite possibly the worst craft beer establishment in Southeast Michigan. Expect prices to be nearly twice as expensive as anywhere else. This is especially true for rare/hard-to-find beers. Not only will you find Founder's Bolt Cutter for $50 and a four-pack of Founder's KBS for $75, but six-packs and bombers are considerably more expensive, too. The owner understands the scarcity of some of the items he sells, but cares more about his bottom line than the beer itself and his customers. Do yourself a favor: skip this place at all costs.

The Keg doesn't really look like much (what liquor store does?), but the back aisle has quite a respectable selection of beer (there's also a good amount of wine and other things, though I just walked through to the beer) -- I think the best in Ypsi, though that's obviously subjective. They have pretty good offerings of Michigan beers -- Bell's, Founder's, Jolly Pumpkin, some Short's, Dark Horse, etc. -- as well as most of the more common craft breweries that distribute around here, like Rogue, Stone, and so on. I wouldn't get my hopes up to find anything rare, though.

I don't have much to say about the service; I've only been there late at night and whoever's at the counter doesn't really seem interested in helping at all, but perhaps during the day it's different.

All in all: a nice selection and good prices.
