Formerly Easy Jack Summer Session IPA
Brewmaster Matt Brynildson went to the mountain and returned with a vision for a different kind of Session IPA, one that would be brewed and dry hopped with a globetrotting selection of new hop varieties from Europe, New Zealand and North America. He foresaw a beer that would deliver massive hop aromas, a signature malt balance and an empty glass before you knew what hit you. And so the newest member of our Jack IPA family was born.

355 ml bottle, as Firestone Walker Easy Jack IPA, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Nearly clear pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Lovely hoppy aroma of tropical fruits and citrus. The flavour is medium dry with citrussy / grapefruity hops, also hints of tropical fruits, and a fairly bitter finish. Light bodied and refreshing.

12oz can (dated 7/20/20) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a clean, clear, bright, light gold color with about 1/2 inch of white head that had low retention and lacing.
The nose had low malt, and subdued pine and citrus hops.
Similar on the tongue, just a bit brighter.
The body was light, smooth, crisp, and had a dry finish.
Drinkability was good, it would be a nice beer for tubing down the Nooksack in the summer.
Overall, decent enough, for what it's trying to be.

I’m going to abstain from a full review because the beer was not as fresh as a beer of this style ought to be to be fully appreciated but the numbers reflect my feeling towards the beer as it was.

12oz can poured into a pint glass.
A: Clear faded gold with a soapy white head.
S: Faintly hoppy and aromatic in a slightly fruity and earthy way; pale malt, orange and lemon, grapefruit pith.
T: A touch bready but leaning crackery/grainy with lemony grapefruit rind bitterness bordering on earthy.
MF: Small and light and refreshing.
O: Well I didn’t know this was 4% until after the beer was gone, I would say as a session IPA this is pretty darn good. Was I imagining the malt presence? Not sure, but if I’m not grading it to style, it isn’t something I’d probably revisit; not enough flavor or punch.

Look: Nice clear golden color, ample carbonation visible as it flutters to the fleeting white head.
Smell: Bursting with tropical fruits like pineapple, guava, mango, with additional citrus fruits such as sweet orange peel. Very inviting aroma.
Taste/Feel: The rich carbonation blossoms in the mouth, carrying waves of pineapple, guava, mango, with additional citrus fruits such as sweet orange peel. The malt profile perfectly balances the inital sweetness of the hop flavors, with a light tongue-coating bitterness followed by a dry finish. Very drinkable and refreshing.
Overall: I am only drinking this because it was in the mixer 12-pack that I got. For me, 6.8% is the perfect strength for a session beer.

Pale clear with thin head from 24 oz can, 4%, canned 11/04/19, sampled 2/22/20
On the nose, a typical simple golden ale, light caramel
Taste is light, grapefruit, citrus, pine, with hop feel at the back, the hops: Hallertau, Bavarian Citra, Kohatu (NZ), making this almost a lager brewed like an ale. Mixture of pale and lager malt and some oats for smoothness.
Mouthfeel was slightly soapy, smooth and naturally carbonated
It is more of a golden ale than an IPA. It is mis-labelled IMO. f you want a session ale, this one works well. Goes great with fish and chips.
