"Revolution 002". Canned 6/22/16; drank 7/10/16 @ the Yarchives.

See-through orange/yellow appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big, noisy white head; thick, frothy lace.

Pine, mango & honey notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Pine & mango flavors up front; a sharp, bitter finish.

Um, I thought these were supposed to taste different; this is basically "Revolution 001" with less mango, more pine & more bitterness. Disappointing on a number of levels...

Bottom of the can stamped 06/14/16. This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a glossy burnt yellow color with a slight transparency about it. A rocky white foamy head starts and moderately dissipates at a nice pace. Subtle messy foamy lacing weaves around the glass. The aroma takes on sweet grassy blending with subtle citrus sweet and bitter rind. Sweet pulp, turns to grapefruit over pine as it warms. The flavor takes in all of the previously mentioned flavors to boot into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a semi-sticky bittersweet feel hitting my tongue. Overall, I’d say really great stuff, I think I’d rather have this over 001, at least for me.

Pours a clear gold with a white head. Smells of hops, citrus, and other fruits. Tastes of slightly bitter hops, citrus, and sweet fruits. Medium and resinous body with medium carbonation. Overall this is an absolutely delicious IPA>

Steady crusty white over platinum blonde. 4.25
Pineapple, sugared grapefruit, and resin. 4
Thread of sweet shortbread, lemon, gooseberry, + honeydew hops. Faint Juicyfruit linger. 4
Crisp, light, slight oil. 4

Speckles of nuance (US, NZ, German hops) - lots of melon. Nothing particularly stands out, though. Better built, if less effective, than 001. 4.25

Surprised to find this one so late in the season. I think I prefer the 003, will review that one soon. Procured in a 6-pack at a local 76. Bottled on 6/29/16, so it's over two months after the recommended consumption deadline...oh well.

L: Straw yellow body with typical finger-and-a-half white head that both forms and dissipates quickly. A very pale ale indeed... looks a little thin as well. Nice lacing. formed one level ring with a couple pillars.

S: Still some very nice terpenes in here. A rather sour balance, opening with green apple, peach and white grape, countered with a sweet prunes/raisins and faint malt.

T: I'll give them a tiny bump up in this category, as it's definitely a little oxidized, and I can see how it was a very good beer not too long ago. Opens with the white grape, quickly overtaken by stone fruit, with light valencia orange on the end, which finishes a tad bitter, but with some nice doughy malt that covers it pretty well.

F: Definitely thin. Not quite mineral water, but approaching diet cola.

O: Not bad, but I'm pretty sure I still would have preferred the 3rd rotation, even if I had had this one fresh.

On-tap 11/11/2016 at British Beer Company in Walpole, MA, served in a nonic pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a large foamy off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains a nice blend of fruity citrus, piney hops and caramelized malts.

T: The taste starts out very sweet with strong flavors of caramel and citrus. Then a hearty malt character comes in. The hops presence is strong and creates a good balance but it’s not as strong as other versions. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a solid IPA to drink for a long time.

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of pineapple, orange peel and mango. Nice tropical fruitiness with toasted caramel and a sharp bitterness.

Nearly flawlessly clear with a big soapy white head that leaves plenty of sticky lacing, abundant fine carbonation swirling around. Nose has sweet fruit, like sugared dried peaches, and a touch of spicy earth. The flavor elaborates on this, incorporating some piney hops and more spice to the vanguard of tropical fruits. As much as I enjoy sweet fruitiness, even in beers, I wish the accompanying flavors were more powerful. Body is light, slightly syrupy, with an abundance of fine carbonation.
Pretty good, solid flavor and wide profile, even if some of them were underrepresented. This is a cool concept, I wish the cans elaborated on each iteration's characteristics.

Pours a clear yellow golden color with white head. Citrus, light sweet fruits, and some light pine on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with light fruits, some sweet notes, and a little grass.

Poured from a can into a glass.

Overall, very good. Well balanced with a malt presence and an enjoyable bitterness that's not intrusive and knows when to leave.

A pale, straw-yellow color with persistent head and lacing.
Smells sweet, bright, and juicy. Grapefruit, pine sap, and candy. Impressive aromatics.
There is a low bitterness upfront that's never overpowering and doesn't linger too long. Taste follows the smell and is grassy. A nice sweet malty finish and medium body.

Big peach hard candy up front, reminds me of now or laters. Watermelon? Tropical/passion fruit. Citrus has a mild contribution. Nice restrained green, fresh earthiness is present as well. Hops are on trend: sweet and juicy. Malt is slightly sweet, but subdued. Bitterness is soft, progressing to modest, but then falls off swiftly. This is like a fresh fruit basket in your mouth. Lovely. Very balanced. Drinkability on high. Appropriate body and carbonation. I really enjoyed round 2. It's more balanced that 001. Hard to say it, but more drinkable than 001. It's fruity like most IPA's these days, but in a different, more interesting way. I could literally drink this all day. I didn't think FSW would out do themselves, but they did. Next up 003!

12 oz bottle. Pours bright golden with finger white bubbly head, fades slowly leaving soapy lace. Citrusy aroma with faint fresh grain. Citrus and pine are prominent in the taste. Balance by light malt sweetness. Finishes with herbal and grapefruit peel bitterness. Nicely balanced IPA, crushable.

I got this Luponic via a mixed 12pck from my old stomping grounds...Binnys. it poured a pale yellow with thin white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent was slight floral with bitterness. The taste was bitter from start to finish. Had almost a white wine zeal. The Mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok....not as good as #1 or #3.

Picked up a single from the Craft Beer Hop Stop in late July for $1.49. Canned on 7/13/16.

Beer poured golden with a nice white head on the original pour.

Nose is dank and tropical, very awesome!

Taste is a light pale malt base with a combination of dank and tropical hops. Initially it was very rind like on the finish but is blending nicely now.

Feel is crisp and clean.

Overall a nice showcase of the hop varieties used. I am finding i am not a big fan of the New Zealand and Australian hop varieties.

Golden in color with a steady stream of tiny bubbles flowing up the glass. Two fingers of bright white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Most clear. Aroma is tropical fruits - mango, pineapple - and some citrus. Clean and crisp. The taste follows, with the tropical fruits really coming to the forefront. Some bitterness and malt character as well. Medium body, moderate-high carbonation, and a bitter dry finish. An excellent IPA.

- light
- mild peppery carbonation
- very pleasant drinker with great balance
- complex - different aspects seem to come out at different times
- feels like it would be good for at a ballgame

A pale gold beer with a white head that leaves a nice amount of spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is pine and pineapple juice. The taste is lightly sweet with pineapple that is washed away with a pleasant pine bitterness. The aftertaste melds sweet and bitter together in a clean finish that waits for another sip to start the dance all over again. This is a really good and fruity IPA.

Pale golden blonde colour, one finger of white head and some lace. Smell is sugar coated grapefruit, and a lightly sweet biscuity malt, but mostly big hoppy notes with a good deal of tangerine and citrus. Taste has lots of fruity hops, citrus, grapefruit and orange, medium bitterness with a dry fruity aftertaste. Light medium carbonation, medium body and lightly slick. Pretty good, nothing outstanding and is pretty similar to any brewers flagship IPA from 2011 but still drinkable and enjoyable.

Firestone Walker's version of the hop series, now! On to the beer:

A shade darker than goldenrod, topped with an inch of fluffy head. There's good head retention on top, and great lace to compliment. The aroma is soft, with grass, floral, and cantaloupe aromas grabbing my nose. Not nearly as intense as I was expecting, and actually on the softer side with the hops. Still, this is hoppy enough. Melon, grass, and a bit of honey flow in this light bodied and lightly carbonated beer.

Fine beer on its own, but probably overhyped during its release. Point the Way IPA offers a similar experience.

Clear yellowish gold with a fizzy white head. Nose is citrus sweet to start with maybe a pinch of pine before a little grassiness comes in. Speaking of which, taste is overwhelmingly grassy with a nice hint of maltiness that follows in with this very watery, almost slick beer.
