Growler from Imperial Bottleshop

A crystal clear light yellow with a dense, white head with excellent retention and lacing, this looks great. The nose is a blend of lemony and earthy hops along with a mildly floral and honeyed dough character. The palate opens bitter, surprisingly so, with lemon zest, earth, mint and some hop oil stickiness (think fresh Jever). This slowly gains a floral note, along with a lovely grainy, doughy flavor. Drying, bitter and mildly resiny on the finish, this beer is light in body, moderately carboanted and has a long, bitter finish. Hoppier than most, this is an excellent pilsner. The clean flavor and flawless malt execution is fantastic.

On tap at BC's Pizza & Beer

A: Pours slightly hazy golden straw yellow with a frothy white head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little nice lacing.

S: Mildly spicy, noble hops a bit yeasty, and some light crackery malt.

T: Very pleasant noble hop presence, floral, a bit spicy, slightly herbal, crackery malt, faint fruity notes, and a little yeasty.

M: Light to medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: I don't typically drink a lot of pilsners, but if more were like this I definitely would. I can see why this would be Matt and Vinny's desert island beer.

On tap at the Venice location. Hazy straw color with healthy head that lingered and laced through the whole pint. Very mild and balanced nose. The best I can think to describe it is all the best parts of Pilsner nose (Bread yeast, crackers, etc.) with a little bit of hops added without the skunky off smells that are usually part of a Pilsner. Taste is the same as he nose. Balanced and yummy. Great smooth and carbonated mouthfeel. Best pilsner I've ever had by quite a comfortable margin, including quite a few I've tried in Germany. Very balanced through the nose taste and mouthfeel and incredibly drinkable. Great collab. This one's score gets a boost for best in class reasons.
