Notes: The lead hop in Revolution 003 is a new German variety that Brewmaster Matt Brynildson first encountered in its experimental infancy while traveling through the Hallertau region during the hop harvest three years ago. “I fell in love with it then, and I’ve been following its development ever since,” he says. “It’s just loaded with this juicy mandarin orange character that is so distinctively German, unlike anything you could grow here in the states.” Luponic Distortion Revolution 003 offers a mandarin orange and ripe peach character with ample supporting notes of citrus, stone fruit and pineapple. The overall profile is round and juicy, leaning heavily on ripe fruits with minimal dank or piney edges.

Poured light gold with an active creamy head. Noticeable fruity pine smell. Taste is very refreshing with hints of tropical orange and pineapple. Mouth is light and smooth. I really like this limited release. Special!

Pours bright yellow gold with less than one finger eggshell head. Super clear

Nose is fresh orange and lemon with decent cracker malt background.

Taste is subtle with the acidic citrus flavors and same with the malts. It carries a slight bitterness. Partway through the German character comes out with noble-like hop flavor and some Pilsner qualities.

Feel here is really thin, and on the lower end of medium carbonation. Not what I was expecting and really the low point of this beer.

Decent.lower ABV IPA with a European twist, but not up to par for FW. Aroma is promising but the flavors never pick up and the feel is way to thin and watery.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a pint glass. Murky & muted golden color - almost tarnished gold with a fairly creamy, single finger head. Smell is a bit muted as i was expecting more hops but i get grass and pineapple. Taste is unique as i get a green tea flavor up front that lingers threw the sip. Some of the hops come through towards the middle and end. Mouthfeel is medium as it kinda creeps around the back of your throat and to the roof of your mouth. Decent ale but not something to rave over.

Had on tap last night at Brewport in Bridgeport. Amber colored liquid, clear, decent white head that stays.

Smell is pretty sweet and hoppy, leaning towards hoppy. Notes of citrus and pine. Flavor kicks with citrus hops, big orange and grapefruit, middle is sweet bready, tangerine. Finishes with a raw hop note, somewhat herbal. Lingering bitter finish.

Body is heavier than expected, almost like a DIPA. Solid beer, love the wave of citrus in the flavor.

Wow, didn’t expect to see this in stores this fast. I just reviewed the No. 2 version after seeing it in stores for the first time just 12 days ago. Really liked that one. In fact, gave it a 4.34, up from a 4.09 from the No. 1 version. Psyched that this one was canned just eight days ago.

Poured a straw-gold yellow clear color with four fingers of rocky white head. Lots of good-looking bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Outstanding layered foamy lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled a potent whiff of citrus and tropical juices, Just awesome. Getting grapefruit, tangerine, juicy orange, floral, pineapple, papaya, hints of passion fruit, orange blossom and nectarine. For specific hops, I think I’m getting Mosaic, Citra and Amarillo, among others. (Smell - 4.50)

Tasted wasn’t as good as the nose overall. Got citrus pulp and tropical, fairly bitter. Got grapefruit, nectarine, tangerine, orange blossom, floral, pineapple, papaya, guava, hints of passion fruit and slight stone fruit. For hops, getting Citra, light Simcoe and hints of Mosaic (wishful?). (Taste - 4.00)

Light body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long bitter finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Probably had this one slightly too warm. May come back on the second one and rate accordingly. Still very good. (Overall - 4.00)

Appearance - Pours a brass gold with two fingers of bubbly white head.

Smell - citrus and tropical hops, bready caramel malts, ripe peach and pineapple.

Taste - Bitter citrus and tropical hops followed by the ripe peach and pineapple. The bready caramel malts help to finish the brew off.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with a pleasant bitterness from the hops lingering.

Overall - An exemplary American IPA that displays the characteristics of citrus and stone fruit to a tee. Nice to see this limited release available here in Cowtown.

A clear, pale gold beer with a white head that leaves random globs of lacing behind. The aroma is pine and citrus and pineapple notes. The taste is amazing with a slightly sweet citrus taste that is quickly blended with a big dose of pine that ends with a cotton candy(?) hint. All of this works to make a really delicious beer.

From the growler, it pours a light amber with a moderate head, quickly dissipating to a thin layer. Very pleasant floral scent tickles the nose lovingly. The mouth enjoys the .light flavorful bite of the hops. Yum!
